Title: Pinkie "Quest" #2: Rave Party Author: AspirantQuests Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/NwXDtT5r First Edit: Friday 20th of June 2014 03:06:57 PM CDT Last Edit: Friday 20th of June 2014 03:06:57 PM CDT >It's a Saturday night and you're laying about at home, wondering what you're going to do for the evening when there's a knock at your door >You open the door to reveal Pinkie Pie, your favorite little party pony >"Heya! I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd invite you to this sweet party I'm going to be setting up for!" >You look past her to see a large covered cart no doubt filled with various party supplies and, most likely, foods >You do notice something sticking out from the cart that's a little unusual; it appears to be some kind of lighting system component >"Uh, what kind of party are we talking about Pinkie?" >"A dance party of course!" >"I didn't know you did music hosting Pinkie." >She giggles at this, making a silly face at you. "I'm not doing the music, silly. All I have to do is go set up the food and help with some lights. Then we can just sit back and enjoy the party! Or rather, dance around and enjoy the party. Whichever! And I thought I'd invite you to come along! I still owe you for that nice night out you treated me to a while back. So whatta ya say, pal?"   To go or not to go?   >You realize you have absolutely nothing better to do and it sounds like it could be fun >Pinkie's face lights up as you tell her you'll go with her, you just need to change first >"Don't worry too much about it, most ponies there won't be wearing anything anyway." >You try to ignore that as you don some casual wear. >You snag a coat in case it gets cold later and head out to the cart with Pinkie. >She sets herself up to pull the cart and you don't feel right sitting on it while she's pulling so you walk alongside her >You arrive at a large building that's none too remarkable. Upon entering you see that it's mostly comprised on one very large room, almost like a school gym but without the basketball hoops or marks on the floor. It must be one hell of a big party to require a room this size.   >There are a few other ponies and colts wandering around checking sound systems, lights, setting up tables on one side of the room and generally getting ready for the party >Pinkie drags the cart inside and whips the cover off, revealing all the cargo underneath >With the press of a button you didn't notice before she launches confetti, streamers, and even food in all directions >You instinctively duck before a flying pie can bean you but a few of the staff ponies aren't so lucky, getting hit with a cupcake or a gob of whipped cream >They grumble a bit but when the smoke settles most the supplies are where they're supposed to be in the room. You marvel at how the heck Pinkie gets contraptions like this to work so well. You're snapped out of your musing when she asks for your help in setting up the light system since they're sorta heavy. >You help move them into position and the other ponies get the cables plugged in without any problems. >It must be drawing near to show time as common folk ponies start streaming into the building. >You decide to hang out near the concession stand and wait for the room to fill up. >All at once the normal lighting goes out and the swelling of music is heard as hundreds of neon lights erupt from the shadows, moving wildly as a steady bass beat plays >It's a rave party >It doesn't take long for you to spot Pinkie, dancing wildly in the middle of the floor >She notices you too and motions for you to join her   >You see her motioning for you and immediately swallow nervously >You were never very good at dancing and you've never danced with a pony before >You notice there are hard drinks available on the concession table. You chug one to calm your nerves and bolster your confidence before heading out onto the dance floor >The dancing ponies part like a multicolored sea in the strobe lights. Some murmur nervously, wondering what the human is doing at the party. Apparently they didn't see you at the concession stand right away. It isn't long before most the room is staring at you even as the music booms all around, making it difficult to hear what exactly people are saying.   >SPAGHETTI ROLL: D20+10 DC: 20 >ROLL: 21   >You're shaken by all the attention but you manage to get to where Pinkie is waiting in the middle of the dance floor. She doesn't seem to notice how everyone is now staring at the two of you, even the DJ wondering what's going on now that everyone has stopped dancing >Pinkie yells over the music "ISN'T THIS SO MUCH FUN? I LOVE DANCING, AND ALL THE LIGHTS, IT'S GREAT!" She throws you some light circlets before she starts dancing again, wobbling on different legs in rhythm to the music >You gain confidence from Pinkie's display and begin dancing, to the best of your ability, alongside the pink pony >The plaza of ponies see you start to dance and break into cheers, some congratulating you and others marveling at the way you dance. Maybe it's appealing to them because it's "exotic" or something, you don't really know >Soon enough you're sweating like crazy but you're having too much fun in the press of multicolored bodies to care >After a while Pinkie heads for the concession stand and you follow, eager for a break from all the attention >She grabs a couple of hard drinks and offers you one >You eagerly accept   >The night flies by in a rainbow of strobing lights, moving bodies, cheering, dancing, drinking, and just general fun. >Unfortunately it's time for the party to start winding down, people having gotten their fill start to leave >You keep dancing with Pinkie until the music stops. The two of you look at the DJ, who taps her watch before shrugging and wandering off stage. You look around and realize it's just the two of you left >The silence is deafening and you can feel your head starting to pound from the contrast of constant noise to relentless silence >Pinkie is still nothing but smiles, as though the party stopping doesn't bother her at all. You can tell she's tired by the bags forming under her eyes and her movements becoming sluggish >You retrieve your coat and the two of you head outside, squinting at the rays of dawn... >Dawn >You literally partied the night away with Pinkie >Pinkie smiles while covering her eyes with a hoof. "Hee hee, good thing I don't have to work today!" She beams at you again, "Thanks for dancing with me! I've never met someone who can dance like that. Or who could keep up with me all night like that. I'm impressed!" >She starts walking towards town but stumbles a bit. Perhaps the drinks got to her or her tiredness is overtaking her. She doesn't make it far before she has to steady herself. >She finally just lays down and rolls over, still smiling while she rests on her back. >You're tired as well, but you're far better able to keep your balance than she. You wonder if you could carry her on your shoulders to help her get home. But maybe she wouldn't react well to it. You're at a loss as to what to do.     >You crouch next to Pinkie, taking a good long look at her as she lies on the grass as only her breathing gives away that she yet lives. She must be exhausted. And yet the smile never leaves her face. >You decide it's better to act than waste time acting, so you put an arm under her legs and another under her upper back and lift. >She's a hell of a lot heavier than you'd expected, but she's still light enough to carry in your arms without too much trouble. >She murmurs a bit and cracks her eyes open, "Hey....whatcha doing?" >You smile, "Thought you could use a hand." >She makes an "mmf" sound as she snuggles into your arm a little. "Just...don't drop me....ok?" >"Promise." >You take her to Sugarcube Corner, but for whatever reason the doors are locked. Pinkie would be the only one other than the Cakes to have a key, but she's rather indisposed. >You make a hasty decision and take her back to your place. You'll just have to explain it to her when she gets up, she probably won't mind.     >You get home and manage to unlock the door without dropping Pinkie, kicking off your shoes as you enter your humble abode. >You carry Pinkie to your room and gently lower her onto your bed, tucking her under the covers delicately. >You turn to leave when you hear Pinkie murmur something. >"Sorry, what was that?" >"Don't....leave. C'mere..." Her hooves are outstretched towards you, as if waiting for a hug. >You walk forward to give her a hug when she suddenly pulls you onto the bed next to her with a surprising burst of strength >You're now lying alongside her as she hugs you tightly, the smell of sweets with a hint of alcohol coming from her with every breath. >She opens her eyes about halfway, staring into yours. Her squeeze tightening a little bit as she does so. You wrap your arms around her in return. >Without saying anything she gives you a little kiss on the nose before promptly falling asleep in your arms. >With little other option now you commit yourself to slumber in the arms of your favorite pink pony, happiness practically radiating off you like the warmth of your shared embrace.
