Title: Pinkie "Quest" #1: Ice Breaking Movie Time Author: AspirantQuests Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/M8Eks6Dg First Edit: Friday 20th of June 2014 03:06:16 PM CDT Last Edit: Friday 20th of June 2014 03:06:16 PM CDT >After a busy day of doing absolutely nothing you decide to head to Sugarcube Corner to buy some sweets to satiate your sugar lust >Surprisingly the store is nearly empty, only a few of the local denizens sit at nearby tables enjoying shakes, cake, candy, and other assorted goodies >Pinkie is running the counter >You order a chocolate malt before asking her how things are going >"Things are going great! We already had our rush for the day so it looks like smooth sailing until we close. Which is in thirty minutes, so you better enjoy that shake quickly!" >You ask her if she has any plans for after her shift. It's a Friday night so you expect her to have some parties to attend. >"No plans! Everypony is tuckered out from the Town Social the Cakes catered not long ago. Why? Did you have something in mind?"   Well, did you?     >Your spaghetti levels are minimal since you left your fedora, cargo pants, and any labeled T-shirts back at home today. >d20+5: DC of 5. >18 >"Well, uh, if you don't have anything planned....would you like to go see a movie or something?" >"Ooh a movie! I haven't been to a theater in some time, probably not since that time they threw me out for giving away the plot to that one big Joe Bond film. That sounds like it could be loads of fun! Sure I'll go!" >You agree to meet at the theater an hour after her shift ends, giving you time to dress a little nicer and drink your milkshake. >You arrive there before she does but it's not long before you see her bouncing down the street to meet you. >"Thanks for inviting me out! What kind of movie do you want to see?"   [Choices are: Comedy, Action, Romance, Horror]     [Comedy 3: Horror 2]   >You opt for a comedy though you suspect Pinkie would also like a horror flick. >"Awesome! Nothing like laughing the night away!" >You get your tickets and enter the theater, you just had a milkshake so you aren't really in the mood for much in the ways of snacks >Pinkie briefly looks around frantically before giving you a look of sadness >"I was going to buy some popcorn for us to share but I left all my bits at home...."   You gonna buy her some popcorn, ya big softie?     >No brainer >You're about to ask her if she'd like some candy with it when you reach into your pocket and are surprised to find a packet of Red Vines >You don't remember having those in there before, but it's candy and she'll probably like em. >You buy a big popcorn for the two of you to share even though you probably won't eat much of it. You also grab a soda for each of you so you don't get thirsty. >Pinkie bounces happily as you get extra butter on the popcorn. >"Oh thank you! A movie isn't really a movie if you don't have some nice, salty, buttery, melt in your mouth popcorn! I'll pay you back, don't you worry!" >You tell her that's not necessary as you get your tickets torn and are directed to the room showing the comedy film. >You take your seats in the crowded theater. It seems the movie is a new one, and it IS a Friday night after all. >The movie is a mostly slapstick one, with a few more "intellectual" jokes thrown in for the harder to please crowd. >Pinkie munches on popcorn and Red Vines contentedly, giggling in all the right places throughout the course of the film >The movie comes to an end all to soon and the two of you leave the theater together. >The sun is setting, casting a nice orange color over the town in front of you >"So, what're we going to do now?"   It's not that late yet and Pinkie seems willing to spend some more time with you, got any ideas?     [Nature walk is go]   >You suggest a walk in the park, the sunset making the idea sound like a very pleasant prospect >Pinkie seems as eager as ever and agrees without hesitation >The two of you walk through the local park, enjoying the cool breeze of early dusk as you stroll leisurely >You come to an empty playground in the park, all the children and parents having gone for dinner some time ago >Pinkie dashes over to the swingset and hops on, her back to you >She giggles, "Hey could you push me? I want to really get up there this time!" >You oblige, pushing her until she's swinging rather quickly, a smile on her face as she says "Wheeeee!" every time you push on her back >Eventually she hops off at the apex of a jump, landing neatly on her hind hooves as though having just performed an acrobatic feat >You then resume your walking, the sun putting out it's last rays as night begins >When darkness does set in in earnest the two of you head to a nearby hill where you sit gazing at the stars together >Pinkie turns to you, "Thanks for keeping me company today. I thought I was going to be sitting home alone since everybody else is busy or too tired to play with me." >You're going to respond when a shooting star crosses your vision. Pinkie seems to have seen it too. >"Ooh a shooting star! Quick make a wish!" She scrunches her face, closes her eyes and puts her hooves on her head, focusing. >After a short while she asks "What did you wish for?"   Well?     >You're glad it's dark, otherwise she'd be seeing you blush right now. You give a small cough, "Oh, well, uh....if I tell you it won't come true now will it?" >Pinkie rolls her eyes, "Oh come oooooon, you know that's not true. Watch: I wished for a big hug from a special someone." >She then grabs you in a tight hug, her mane tickling your chin as she presses her head to your chest. >You can't help but smile as you return the hug >"Alright, I'll tell you. I wished for more fun times like this." >She giggles before smiling a little bashfully. "Oh silly, you know all you have to do is come find me and I'll do whatever I can to make your day a little better! I always make time for my friends!"   You going to come outright with those feelings or is this how you want it?     >"I....I would like that, Pinkie." >She smiles at you, finally breaking the hug as she hops up energetically >"Hey, that's just what I do! Now let's go get some hot chocolate, it's getting chilly out here! Ooh, or maybe hot apple cider! And some doughnuts!" >You laugh your nervousness away at that before the two of you head back towards town. >Pinkie regales you with stories as the two of you sit and enjoy a hot chocolate at a small cafe in town >Before too long the cafe needs to close and you walk Pinkie back to Sugarcube Corner >The two of you reach the door and Pinkie gives you another great big hug >"Thank you again for the wonderful time! I'm not sure what I would've done with myself tonight if you hadn't shown up!" She opens the door to Sugarcube Corner and enters, before poking her head back out to say "Next time will be even more fun, and I'll pay you back for all the snacks, I promise!" before shutting the door quietly >You head home, a profound warmth in your chest at her words >"Next time," she said. There will be a next time. You can't get those words out of your head or the smile off your face. >There's hope yet.
