The Dream Eater vaporizes and drops the griffon.

Before he could even finish another Dream Eater swoops by, eats him, then runs away.
 
'OH COME ON!'

Another Dream Eater runs by and eats the dog.

"NO NOT THE PUPPY!"
 
A pony runs by with an attack slug for protection.
{Wait a minute. Is that Pinkie? Oh my gosh, I've written so many letters to you!}
A Dream Eater pops out of the ground and swallows both the pony and the slug.
 
>MY FAN! HE EVEN WROTE FAN LETTERS!
 
'...uh you know let's let that one go. Natural selection is working.'
 
>Talk about eating and running. I think they've switched tactics to avoid fighting and focus on eating.
 
"What do we do now, Pinkie? They're too fast for us to catch."

They're surrounded by signs pointing to them saying food here. DT is dressed in a hayburger costume, Pinkie's in a curly fries costume, and Cadence is wearing a milkshake costume.

After a moment, DT eventually nods in agreement.

"...*slurp from the giant straw*"
 
'Would you stop drinking yourself!'
 
"I can't help it! I taste really delicious!"
 
'Pinkie, why did you use real dream food for the costumes?!'
 
>We need to attract the Dream Eaters of course, so it actually needs to be extra appetizing!

DT takes a bite of her hayburger costume.
'*munches*...I got to admit, this hayburger taste pretty good. The smell of BBQ sauce. The crispy onion rings fried onion rings. It tastes so juicy and full of flavor. This is pretty hard to resist eating.'
 
6 Dream Eaters show up and surround them.
[A hayburger does sound pretty good right now. I could practically eat you up.]

A dream eater tries to suck them up.

Pinkie throws the Dream Eater that she just punched earlier at the inhaling dream eater and chokes on it.
 
"LOVELY TWIN BLADES!"
Cadence slashes both of the Dream Eaters and they vaporize.
"Level Up!"
 
>Don't let up! CHESTNUTS ROASTING ON AN OPEN FIRE PUNCH!
Pinkie rapidly punches a dream eater's side and into the mouth of another dream eater.
 
'MISSILE MASSACRE!'
DT unleashes a barrage of missiles decimating both the dream eaters.
'Skill point acquired!'
 
>One left! Pie-star formation!
 
"'Right!'"
 
"DOUBLE FANG!"
Cadence rushes up and stabs the Dream Eater's eyes with her twin blades.
 
[AAAGH!]
 
'STRIKE LASER CLAW!'
TBDRLIATU turns into a large laser claw and jumps overhead cutting down the Dream Eater's back.
 
>SWIFT PONK KICK!
Pinkie kicks hard splitting the Dream Eater down the middle.
*BOOOM*
It vaporizes.
 
>Whew and with that, I think we can finally call this area secured.
 
'Geez, it's about time.'
 
"We're getting good at this!"
Luna lands nearby.
 
>Princess Luna! P-team has now secured a safe zone!
 
{Great...but we're abandoning the dream city.}
 
>"'...WHAT!?!'"

[The dream eaters are especially greedy tonight. Their attack destabilized the dream that the host is currently having and is subconsciously summoning mental defenses to protect itself. Unfortunately that also means that the host is going to attack us too.]
 
>Host?
 
[Yes, host. The dream city exists inside of another's dream. As long as the host is asleep, it will allow the city to keep existing. This particular city has existed for about 40 years now.]
 
"Wow, that's a long time to be asleep."
 
'What could possibly stay asleep that long?'
 
>Oh I know this! Is it a dragon?
A loud roar can be heard in the distance. The giant Dream Eater that's been gorging itself on buildings, finds itself looking at an even bigger giant dragon staring it down.
 
[Long story short, yes. We're in the dream of a dragon.]
