  1. >Nightfall
  2. >Ponyville is desert again
  3. >You decide to leave your house and search for food.
  4. >You don’t have much money, so you get some apples at the Sweet Apple acres.
  5. >You really feel guilty about stealing, so you just get enough apples to survive.
  6. >Even if you had any money, it’s not like you can just face other ponies.
  7. >It’s very hard being a bat-pony in Ponyville, but you don’t regret leaving Hollow Shades.
  8. >Even through you were surrounded by bat-ponies, you were still alone.
  9. >You were always quiet and a bit shy, other ponies always bullied you because of that.
  10. >However, some of them seemed to be cool.
  11. >Aux should know how you feel, but at least he has Hekesuh as a friend.
  12. >It would be nice to be their friends, but you were a bit introverted, so you gave up on the idea.
  13. >But one day you decided your life had to change.
  14. >You left hollow shades and decided to move to Ponyville for a fresh start.
  15.
  16. >And what a start.
  17. >The city was deserted.
  18. >Everything was closed.
  19. >But you could see them looking through the windows.
  20. >They are afraid of you.
  21. >After that “Warm reception” you decided it would be better to leave.
  22. >You couldn't go back to hollow shades, you knew that.
  23. >While wandering around you found a small abandoned wooden shack.
  24. >It was old and falling apart...
  25. >Inside there was just some shelves and rusted old tools.
  26. >The wood was rotten and there was a lot of dust.
  27. >But it would have to do for now.
  28. >You got rid of the tools and cleaned what you could.
  29. >It was not big or good looking, but with some work it became an acceptable place to live.
  30. >Suddenly you think about your parents, your old house.
  31. >But It’s not like they even care.
  32. >I mean.. They didn't even bothered picking you a good name.
  33. >Crimson Drop?
  34. >Totally unoriginal.
  35. >You hated Red.
  36. >Well, you do hate yourself.
  37. >Maybe that’s why you hate Red, to begin with.
  38. >But self-pity won’t take you anywhere.
  39. >You never really cared about them either.
  40.
  41. >The days were pretty boring.
  42. >Slept all day and, at night, you read some books and look for food.
  43. >Thankfully you remembered to bring your book collection from Hollow Shades.
  44. >You loved reading.
  45. >That’s how you earned your cutiemark, a torn page.
  46. >Hopefully you can visit Ponyville library someday.
  47. >Well, if you don’t scare the whole town again.
  48.
  49. >You also searched for old newspapers when you left your house at night.
  50. >In one of those, you read about something unbelievable.
  51. >A creature that came for another world.
  52. >A “human”.
  53. >His name was Anon, and he was living in Ponyville.
  54. >Not sure if you believe in that you decide that someday you should search for him.
  55. >He is new here, maybe he wouldn't mind the fact that you are a bat-pony.
  56. >Maybe he’s more left-out than you?
  57. >He was different, unlike anyone in Equestria.
  58. >It would be nice to meet him.
  59. >But it’s irrelevant for now.
  60. >Anyway, your days were pretty boring.
  61. >Usually you spend the whole day sleeping, that helps you to avoid people.
  62. >But if you wanted to meet anon, you would have to change that.
  63.
  64. >One particular day you went to the Sweet Apple Acres to grab something to eat.
  65. >Someday you must find a way to repay it.
  66. >You eat some apples, but decide it’s too early to go back home, so you just sit in a branch and grab another apple.
  67. >You grab a book from your saddle and start reading.
  68. >A lot certainly have happened in these past few weeks.
  69. >There is just too much in your mind, and you barely slept yesterday.
  70. >You keep drifting in your thoughts, and you barely notice how heavy your eyelids are.
  71. >You fall asleep.
  72.
  73. > You are Anon
  74.
  75. >Your life has been a mess, and you are still adapting to Equestria.
  76. >At least you already have a job in the sweet apple acres.
  77. >It’s a pretty simple job, actually. You just help picking apples.
  78. >You aren't strong as Applejack or Big mac, so you have to pick them one by one.
  79. >You wonder why they gave you this job, anyway.
  80. >Pity? Or maybe just to help you?
  81. >You don’t know.
  82. >But you always try to make yourself useful.
  83. >To get some apples that are pretty high, you pull a branch.
  84. >Suddenly, something heavy falls to your head, and you fall as you lose balance.
  85. >On top of you is a pony with light gray coat, reddish brown mane and dark brown eyes.
  86. >And fangs.
  87. >And leathery wings.
  88. >Holy batman.
  89. >You scream out of shock and he flew away.
  90. >What the fuck just happened?
  91.
  92. >You are Crimson
  93.
  94. >You just fell on top of Anon and scared the shit out of him.
  95. >And you are flying back to you house as fast as you can.
  96. >His yelling really scared you too, but it was your fault.
  97. >You must apologize someday.
  98. >You decided to sneak to Ponyville around dusk to search for him.
  99. >“Stalking” him would be more accurate..
  100. >You know that you really shouldn't do that, but you still didn't have the courage to be seen in Ponyville.
  101. >At least for now.
  102. >You had noticed that Anon has left his house at night to drink.
  103. >Maybe that would be a good opportunity to meet him.
  104. >Not to mention that it’s been a long time since you had anything to drink.
  105. >And the cider from here was pretty famous.
  106. >You made sure that he doesn't see you, but as sneaky as you were, you was spotted by some ponies.
  107. >You flew away quickly, so there was no commotion.
  108. >And just a few ponies seen you, could been worse.
  109. >Turns out that was not a bad thing.
  110. >They even made a newspaper article about bat-ponies because of the rumor.
  111. >It was interesting, explained a lot about your kind, about the fact not all of us drink blood and usually aren't dangerous.
  112. >Maybe they won’t be afraid anymore?
  113. >Who knows?
  114. >Can’t know if you don’t try.
  115.
  116. >You enter Ponyville.
  117. >You pass anon house on the way, and it’s all dark.
  118. >He should be in the bar.
  119. >There are many ponies in the city, many looking at you.
  120. >Curious, and scared.
  121. >Paying no attention to them you enter the bar.
  122. >Surprisingly, no screaming, running or houses suddenly burning without any logical explanation.
  123. >They don’t really seem comfortable with your presence, but at least they don't make a fuss about it.
  124. >It was just as you expected.
  125. >It was a big place, with many round tables with a couple of lamps providing a dim light, and a big counter.
  126. >There were ponies singing, drunken brawls..
  127. >Anon is here, looking at you.
  128. >No, you can’t go talk to him now. It’s better to get some liquid courage.
  129. >You grab a seat near the counter, and ask for some cider.
  130. >The clerk gets you a cider, and the two of you talk a bit.
  131. >That eases the mood a little.
  132. >And the cider is delicious!
  133. >You are glad you kept some spare bits from when you left Hollow Shades.
  134. >Anon just got up.
  135. >You had waited all this time to meet him, and now he was already leaving the bar.
  136. >It was a surprise to realize he wasn't walking to the door, but to you.
  137. >”Mind if I sit here?”
  138. “Not at all. “
  139.
  140. >Somehow, you manage to keep the spaghetti level to a minimum.
  141. “So, you are Anon. I've read about you in the newspaper. Liking Equestria so far?”
  142. >”Still adapting. Things are very different around here. Being the only human here doesn't help either.”
  143. >He laughs, but you can see sadness in his eyes.
  144. >”And you are?”
  145. >You forgot to introduce yourself.
  146. >Idiot.
  147. “My Name is Crimson Drop. I've moved to Ponyville some time ago.  But I am a bat-pony, and people around here were a bit scared at first, so I don’t get out much.”
  148. >”Yeah, I've never seen you around here. Except that day at the sweet apple acres...”
  149. >You blush and ask for another cider.
  150. >You explained to him what happened that day and decided to apologize.
  151. >But he wasn't mad at you or anything.
  152. >The two of you spent a lot of time drinking and chatting.
  153. >Anon is pretty cool.
  154. >But something bothered you.
  155. >Many ponies were talking to him, they seem to look like..
  156. >Friends?
  157. >They kept on asking about a lot of things.
  158. >Well, some even talked to you.
  159. >Maybe seeing you chatting with anon made them think that you are not dangerous.
  160. >But that was really unfair.
  161. >For being different, you were treated as a monster.
  162. >Him?
  163. >Almost a celebrity.
  164. >He has all those friends.
  165. >Why would he need you anyway?
  166. >Maybe it’s because you were always a bit emotive, or you are just way too drunk, but you are really sad and you think you should leave.
  167. >You put the cash at the counter and leave.
  168.
  169. >You are Anon
  170.
  171. >And this is pissing you off.
  172. >Every time you bump into someone who doesn't know you, they come with an avalanche of questions.
  173. >About humans, earth, always the same stuff.
  174. >Don’t even get me started on Lyra obsession with hands...
  175. >You hated being the center of attention.
  176. >They’re all annoying.
  177. >Except Berry Punch, she’s cool.
  178. >She is always around here, and the two of you always chat a lot.
  179. >And you just met Crimson Drop, he’s just adorable.
  180. >You look at Crimson, he seems very sad.
  181. >He leaves some cash at the counter and walk out of the bar without saying a word.
  182. >Why did he left like that?
  183. >Did you say something wrong?
  184. >You remember about everything he said about his life, about those last days..
  185. >He shouldn't be alone.
  186. >And he was very drunk, you really should check if he is okay.
  187. >You weren't sober either, but you were used to it.
  188. >You pay for the drinks and leave to search for him.
  189.
  190. >You walk a bit and find him, sitting below a tree, sobbing.
  191. >You sit by his side, and as he notices you, he uses his mane to cover his eyes, full of tears.
  192. ”Is everything okay?”
  193. >Obviously it was not.
  194. >He was drunk, crying in the streets in the middle of the night.
  195. >And you were shocked as he opened up to you.
  196. >”You are popular, Anon. You have a lot of friends. I have nopony, and really hoped that we could be friends. ”
  197. >”But I understand if you don’t want that.”
  198. >He was completely drunk, you could see that.
  199.
  200. >So, he thought you actually enjoy all that attention?
  201. >They were no friends, they couldn't care less about you.
  202. >Berry Punch, Applejack and Big Mac were the closest thing you have to friends around here, since you see them on a daily basis.
  203. >Hell, not even on earth you have many friends.
  204. >You put your hands on his face and make him look at you, and you explain everything.
  205. >Pushing him closer you hug him, and wait for him to stop crying.
  206. >You don’t know why, but you cared deeply about him.
  207. >Maybe it’s because you know how he feels.
  208. >A couple of minutes later, he stops crying, and you noticed he fell asleep.
  209. >You have no words to describe how cute that is.
  210. >You realize you don’t know exactly where he leave.
  211. >After some thought, you decided to bring him to your home.
  212.
  213. >It was hard, but you managed to reach your house without faceplanting.
  214. >You look around. It wasn't a big house, but it was comfy.
  215. >You lay him on your bed on your bad and cover him in blankets.
  216. >You make your way to the sofa.
  217. >There isn't TV’s on equestria, and nobody came to visit your house, but you decided to buy a sofa anyway.
  218. >It was useful when you get drunk and can’t reach the bedroom.
  219. >It’s not like you have much to do with your money, anyway.
  220. >You throw yourself on the sofa and close your eyes.
  221. >And you have that familiar sensation, everything is spinning.
  222. >You smile while thinking about all that happened, and slowly fall asleep.
