Will there be animals? How long are we staying? Is the weather going to be nice? Do you need help with anything?" >You tell her it's a surprise, everything is already packed up and ready to go and that the two of you need to head out to get to the spot before dusk. >She bounds ahead of you to your car and hops in the passenger seat, now eager to get going >The car ride is uneventful but pleasant. The radio plays some older, more mellow songs that are much to Fluttershy's liking. You sing along with the radio, Fluttershy joining in on the songs you taught her the words to the last time she asked.     >As you approach the wooded camping grounds Fluttershy's gaze never leaves the window, as though she's afraid she'll miss some mythical creature scampering on the outskirts of the woods >She gets a little frightened as you enter the deep woods and the light fails to penetrate the upper foliage of the dense forest, but quickly gets over it as she starts seeing signs of wildlife. >You reach the camping ground in the early evening and begin setting up your tent and getting some firewood for a campfire that night. Fluttershy helps where she can, but is distracted by her own excitement of being in the woods. >Eventually everything is set up and you suggest a walk in the woods. >It's wonderfully peaceful. A creek can be heard babbling not far from where you walk, birds singing, the air smells of pine, sap, and other herbal pleasures. Fluttershy flies off to the upper branches more than once, talking to the animals and spinning in the air with joy. >You're reminded that you need to head back when your stomach begins growling in earnest. Fluttershy finds some edible berries for the two of you to munch on while you head back to your camp, remarking at the tart taste. >You cook some oats on the travel burner you brought along, adding more fresh fruit and some granola crumbs you brought from home. Fluttershy hums as she eats happily in the fading light, wiggling her hind legs as she sits on a log next to you. >You start up a campfire before it gets too dark and break out the marshmallows for some smores >Fluttershy doesn't want to hold a poker with a marshmallow on it for fear of standing too close to the fire or setting her hair on fire, so you hold both pokers over the fire, roasting the marshmallows to a tender perfection     >You eat yours right off the poker but Fluttershy is too nervous to do so, so you remove the marshmallow and hand feed it to her, holding it between your thumb and forefinger >"Say 'aaaaah'," you instruct, moving your hand closer to her face >Fluttershy blushes fiercely but obeys, tentatively opening her mouth and squeeking out a cute "Aaah~," as you hand feed her. >You repeat this until you're out of marshmallows. Fluttershy licks your fingers clean on the last one, clearly enamored with the sugary taste. >After you clean up the two of you sit on the log and look to the patch of clear sky above you >After gazing for a bit you pull out a surprise from your vehicle; an acoustic guitar >You only know a few songs, but they're all easy listening ones that the two of you enjoy >You play softly as Fluttershy gazes at the stars and the forest around her, sighing happily before resting her head on your arm >After the third or so song you notice Fluttershy is looking rather tired. Perhaps the excitement was too much for her. >You set the guitar down and stroke her flowing mane with one hand, asking her if she'd like to go to bed. >"A-as long as I'm with you, Anon." >You pat her on the head and send her to the tent while you pack your guitar up and smother the campfire flames before you in turn head to the tent. >You roll out a nice double sized sleeping bag and bring in the large, fluffy pillows you brought from home     >The two of you crawl into the sleeping bag, exhaustion finally overtaking you. >"I had a wonderful day today, Anon." >You smile and tell her there's still tomorrow, and that you'll make a nice big breakfast for the two of you when you get up. >She makes a soft squeeing noise and hugs you under the sleeping bag covers, nuzzling your neck as she says "Thank you" over and over. >You wrap your arms around her and tell her you noticed she seemed sad earlier that week, and that you decided you'd do whatever you could to cheer her up. >"O-oh. I didn't mean to be a burden, I'm sorry." >You tell her not to worry about it as you run your fingers through her mane again. >She sighs, content, as the two of you drift to sleep in each other's arms.
