This is a series of bulletin posts to go on the inn's billboard in an effort to spur individual adventure and world building without the need for a GM.  Obviously everything the players do will need to be submitted to the Metacil for review, but these are ideas/events to encourage people to get out and do something.
 
>Increased supernatural activity in Old Town is prompting the city of Four Cannon to ask volunteers to investigate and see if anything can be done to calm the restless spirits in the area.
Warning!:  Increased spirit activity confirmed at night!
 
>Winter still has not been wrapped up!  Adventurers needed to investigate claim of ice elementals in the mountains to the north.  Must be prepared for possible extended expedition.
 
>Reports are coming in that a groundhog is too lazy to come out of his burrow to check if spring has arrived.  Someone needed to encourage him out.
 
>We are to believe that a den of rabbits have come out of hibernation near the farms in the East Wood and are endangering our newly-planted crops by trying to eat the seeds!  Animal expert preferred, but anyone needed to help discourage them from potentially destroying our crops.
 
>Lost:  Keg of beer fell over bridge into river and floated downstream.  Requesting retrieval and return to the Inn ASAP.
 
>A series of animal corpses discovered in the western forest are believed to be connected to a single predator.  The city is requesting someone to remove the critter before it becomes a threat to traveling traders and citizens.  Caution highly advised.
 
>Word has come in about a passing Zebra caravan to the south being bogged down in the swamps.  They are requesting a helping hoof to get them on their way.
 
>Rumors are spreading of an enchanted glade in the forest to the north east that is home to Ents and Spriggans.  Disposition is as of yet unknown.  The city is requesting a group of adventurers to locate and scout the area to confirm or deny said rumors.  Extreme caution and stealth strongly advised.
 
>A plume of snoke in the nearby western forest has been the subject of concern amongst the townsfolk.  An investigation of the source is requested.
 
I leave most of the details open and the tasks range from simple and easy to long and dangerous.  It really all depends on the players how they want to write the stories out.  Almost none of them have the potential to grant much loot but who's to say there isn't any?  Of course you're not going to find a magic sword amongst a den of rabbits so the players need to show some restraint and the Metacil needs to monitor the resulting transcript to avoid and stupidity from leaking into the game.  I expect stories to be written out as opposed to just two people talking the whole time and saying "So then we found X".  It's a large focus on worldbuilding and expanding on the immediate area around the town and giving players a chance to do a variety of tasks.
