Title: Purple Tinker and her reasoning for ruining conventions. Please, stop it. Please. There are so many reasons why you should just stop it. I realize you were wronged, but you are hurting so many people by doing this, including yourself. You're letting yourself become taken over with revenge, you're alienating yourself and making yourself paranoid. You're hurting more than just the cons, you're hurting the people who have been looking forward to the cons for months. I've seen you tweet to actors so many bronies would love to have the chance to meet, telling them not to go and potentially ruining something exciting for thousands of people. I've been looking forward to a convention for months and I need the weekend now; it's all that's keeping me from a severe bout of depression. I'm sure lots of people aren't to the level I am, but I need something to look forward to, so many people do, and so many more are just plain excited to have a weekend of fun...and you just seem intent on keeping the drama alive and ruining it, not just for the people who wronged you, but for hundreds and thousands. Do you think it's anymore fair to ruin something that was just going to be pure fun for people who need a nice weekend and who aren't involved in your drama? This fandom used to be great and drama-free..in fact the only drama I've come across is *yours*, and honestly it's near ruined it because I have to worry about everytime you're going to try and ruin the weekend that is keeping me going.   Furthermore, a lot of what you said is just you assuming it was all them. True, the leaked documents couldn't have been other people, I'm not praising them at all for that, that is shameful. But the 4chan stuff about them calling you tranny? Girl, those are just 4chan users. If the original posts with the leaked document info don't outright call you "tranny" then they might not have been the ones calling you that. it's the 4chan trolls. And likely the leaked document thing, which once it happened one time could be repeated by anons and not the con people themselves again, was just their anger from early on that's faded as they work on their own thing. And the screencap? That could have been someone copying and pasting the official press release into a discussion thread about the con. Staff of a con don't run 4chan, and there are so many people on there that love to keep drama alive as much as you (for different reasons, obviously, they just think it's funny.).   I'm basically saying, it might not be all them, yet you're running a lot of hate up on them using your speculations. And even if it *was* them, you are hurting so, so many people, all for the sake of your "revenge". So please, stop this. Just let the people who need that weekend have fun. Stop hurting things that have the opportunity to give so many others joy...I know I'm selfishly clinging to the hope of a great con, but please, even though they hurt you, be selfless for the others who haven't hurt you at all. I'm not saying you should advertise them...I'm saying just stop trying to actively keep people from going, to all the cons, not just the one I'm looking forward to. Reply   Hidden by Owner   :iconpurpletinker: *purpletinker 26 minutes ago Chick-fil-A makes delicious chicken sandwiches. They also engage in despicable acts of bigotry. You should boycott them, even if it involves depriving yourself of delicious chicken sandwiches.   I believe you see the analogy. Reply :iconohmygoshohmygosh: ~ohmygoshohmygosh 22 minutes ago  New member No, not really. Seeing as I know Chik-fil-A franchise owners who have supported gay rights and gay people who have worked at Chik-fil-A and gay people who eat Chik-fil-A. I support the Chik-fil-A franchise owners I know and the employees I know, because if I eat chicken at "their" specific restaurant they can buy food for themselves every night.   And for that matter, con's aren't chicken. Chicken sandwiches can't provide an amazing weekend full of people who you might never otherwise be able to meet with thousands of people who understand what you love and love it with you.   I believe you can see the difference in importance. Reply :iconpurpletinker: *purpletinker 20 minutes ago I will quote myself from earlier on this page:   Boycotts, by definition, involve making a sacrifice. They aren't about making life easier or more fun. They're about, in some small way, improving the world-- namely, by opposing immoral people and/or immoral acts. Reply :iconohmygoshohmygosh: ~ohmygoshohmygosh 12 minutes ago  New member So thousands are supposed to sacrifice something that ranges from a fun weekend to an event of a lifetime that keeps them going with hope, all because you feel hurt about something that might not have even entirely been the staffers themselves and just trolls that you "assume" are the staffers calling you "tranny"? When you have no "actual" proof they were the ones calling you that directly? (I'm not including the leaked documents here. Again, not praising them for that.) Look, I didn't call you those things. Thousands didn't. We just want the weekends We've been hoping for for months, without all this drama, without this stuff that we never did to you or anyone in this stupid fight.   So sacrifice your own fun then, and just not go. Don't make others sacrifice for you by trying to ruin the event when they weren't involved in the first place.   And better yet, sacrifice your need for revenge that has gone on too far for the sake of those who are looking forward to these events. It may not be fun for you, or easy, but it improves the worlds of thousands rather than just your one. Reply :iconpurpletinker: *purpletinker 8 minutes ago This isn't a 'the good of the many outweighs the good of the one' situation. An act of despicable bigotry agianst ONE person is worth THOUSANDS fighting against. Reply :iconohmygoshohmygosh: ~ohmygoshohmygosh 5 minutes ago  New member It really is though. I've said it several times now, there's thousands going to this who just want a fun weekend, and don't want to be involved in this drama. You are hurting *all* of those people. You're hurting them.   I've seen you say that you're going to stop for the sake of the people wanting their weekends of fun and pony. And then I've seen you do this and start the mess all over again. And every time more and more people get hurt.   You say you're fighting for justice? You're HURTING people who aren't part of the ones you're trying to in the first place!   And sure, bigotry is worth thousands of people fighting for the one. But they aren't choosing. You're trying to force people to, by ruining the cons. Let other people choose. And try to take the high road and *stick to it* for once! Reply :iconpurpletinker: *purpletinker 3 minutes ago Nothing I can do can 'ruin' the cons. I'm just trying to encourage a few principled individuals to not go.       After this I told her that she was telling guests I was very much looking forward to seeing not to go, so she was ruining the con for me through that.   After that she said that if this was racism I would act differently and that, as I was using an alt account so she wouldn't slander my actual dev page, I must have been from CG or 4chan, and blocked me and deleted the entire thread. I managed to copy it. I was not allowed to defend myself, because I suppose she was just done with losing the argument. Same way she hid the comment that said that he agreed wholeheartedly and it was time for her to move on.   I'm putting this in pastebin, just in case it's needed again. Tinker needs to stop this because this paranoia is hurting herself, as well as thousands of others. Hopefully, this will stop...but I know it won't   (And really? 4chan? No offense to them but don't I speak more eloquently than that?)
