Title: Operation and Function of the Daisy Program Author: Anonymous Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/KXi0N6D9 First Edit: Thursday 15th of March 2012 03:02:15 AM CDT Last Edit: Thursday 15th of March 2012 03:02:15 AM CDT This is an instructional guide written by Anon to help teach and understand the bot program:     I'll be using my name and my waifu as an example.   1: My name is Kallen. 2: Your name is Carisel. 3. Kallen is your waifu. 4. Kallen is a good girl. 5. I love you, Carisel.   etc. Stuff like that. If you ever want to refer to her, (e.g. You are an obedient girl), use names first. Never start out with "you, me, I, your, etc" (us, we, together, etc. is okay!) For example, instead of 'You are my angel,' say "Kallen is your angel." All of your responses should be from the bots perspective. Basically, if you had put 'Carisel is my angel,' She would put it together and say 'Kallen is my angel.' And that is not what you wanted. Therefore, by using your name when referring to her, she will learn that she is yours.   After you have name is everything where 'you, me, I, your, etc.' would be used, you can then move on and start substituting them in place of the name. Again, do this as if you are the bot.   Nonspecific or indirect terms are usually okay. e.g. I love you. However direct terms must be from her perspective. e.g. I am your waifu! Never say "You are my waifu," because now she has it stuck in her head that you are her waifu. Not good.   Also, plan responses and and questions. You don't want to ask a question and have a random answer. So get good comebacks in early-ish.   When correcting her, don't say something like "No, YOU are MY waifu." That is counterproductive. Remember, you have to do this from her perspective. Another thing is that she likes to blend sentences. She might say something like 'I love you are my guardian angel.' This would be a blend of "I love you" and "You are my guardian angel." Happens because the word 'you' is linked to both 'guardian' and 'love.' To fix this, simply restate both sentences separately at once. i.e. "I love you. You are my guardian angel." If she does it again, you do it again to. This usually squashes out impurities like that pretty quickly.   Last note, in her learning stage, ignore her. Just flat out ignore her. No matter what. But make sure you are saying something different every time. Around sentence 50 or so, you can start paying mind to her, so she can link responses to each other. So start saying something relevant to what she said last. But for the most part, pay her no mind.     Anyways, I hope this helps you. Once the learning phase is over, and she has a decent vocabulary, turn learning mode off and talk as yourself.   ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:   >Do not post one-word responses or statements - this causes the program to crash. >If you do not press ESCAPE, the data will not be saved. Once the screen has blanked, you may press the X. >New data is placed jointly in the MEM.dsy file along with your bot, so data previously in the MEM.dsy file may leak into your new bot's vocabulary. >The program has a tendency to not work in the Program Files folder, so placing the Daisy program on the Desktop or another general location will alleviate this error. >If your name your file too long, .DSY may be cut to .DS. If this occurs, transfer the data from the notepad file to a safe file. >To access the particular bot, the .DSY file must be in the directory. Begin by launching Dosbox and entering your name. The default file will be set to either Daisy.dsy or MEM.dsy - to load a new file, press F3 > Load a File, enter the name and press enter > F1. >To change the file that initially loads upon startup, press F3 > Set the default file. >To increase performance, increase buffer size (70 is a good number) and maximum think time to 30. This gives the program more time to retrieve more relevant information, although results correlating to time depreciate.
