Jim meant to say, well, of course it's not going to be on the level of an adult show, because it's meant to cater for everyone. Murrison was blindly and condescendingly telling him something he already knew. I say blindly because Jim said it RIGHT IN THE TWEET.
 
It just came across as 'hurr it's for kids so it can be dumb' because of his poor wording.
 
That tweet about 'I'm tired of people complaining about it being "too predictable"' means he is sick of people complaining about how predictable the plot  is to an adult, because they can't appreciate that kids will only understand so much complexity and it can only be so unpredictable.
 
It was nothing to do with defending plots that have been *overused* in the show, like keeping people away from a particular place. He was working with Lauren from the start so of course he'd share that same 'vision', and it's not too likely it would change so drastically as to disagree. People thought it was meant to defend overusing plots because they were expecting that to begin with.
