Title: Dusk Shine's Journal Part 4 Author: Anonymous Pastebin link: http://pastebin.com/1i7bfviu First Edit: Tuesday 26th of November 2013 01:50:10 AM CDT Last Edit: Tuesday 26th of November 2013 01:50:10 AM CDT         Solaris stood on the balcony attached to his bedchambers, the very same spot in which he read through his student's journal. He looked out over that finely crafted night sky. Every constellation was engrained in his heart. After he had banished his brother, he had vowed to remember the names of everything that hung in the heavens. It was the least he could do. Even with the melancholic scene before him, he still hummed a sweet little tune. It had been a while since he'd had this kind of entertainment.         Artemis flew over and landed at the other end of the balcony. “Enjoying the stars brother?”         Solaris rolled his eyes. Artemis always had something to say but was never able to start the hard conversations. If the Prince of the Night was going to give him a tongue lashing, then Solaris himself would have to launch the first salvo. “'I thought as much.' What did you mean by that?”         “They may have forgotten the scandals, a few thousand years will do that, but I don't. A zebra can't change her stripes, if you'll pardon the old saying. I figured you'd do to Dusk what you did to all your other students.” Solaris glared at his brother as Artemis continued, “Besides, Yesterday I dream-walked into a dream Dusk Shine had during the day. It was different than his past dreams and I suspected that was your doing.”         Solaris's wings unfurled, his eyes narrows, and his voice deepened. “We will not stand for you idly strolling through Dusk Shine's mind!”         “And that's why you are a fool brother. Dream's are not sealed boxes that thou must open and enter. They are a candle flame in the darkness. Their contents bleed outwards and draw the dreamwalker in. The higher the emotion, the more intense or realistic the dream, the more likely I end up setting foot in the dream as opposed to the countless other dreams happening simultaneously. Yes I can seek out dreamers and watch, sometimes even take part. Sleeping during the day is easiest for me because few else sleep and dream at that time. When I sleep, I have zero control over where the flowing river of nearby dreams take me. I must be awake in order to swim through it all.”         Solaris didn't back down. “You will not touch him.”         This time it was Artemis's turn to roll his eyes. “Keep your little pets brother. Raising a pony up under your wing like this is disgusting. It never suited you, chasing every tail that looked up to you like a father.”         “I am hearing this from the royal voyeur. How many countless filthy dreams do you watch? How can you live with that and never have the real thing. Look at us. We are their shining beacons of masculinity and power. All you ever needed to do was say the word and you'd have any number of ponies releasing centuries of your stress.”         Artemis's eyes narrowed and his voice rose, “We are unloved, feared even by the masses. Of course they would never refuse us! We are their gods! And we nearly destroyed them with infighting! They would be too afraid to refuse us. Brother, what is it worth if they can't say no?” He took a deep breath and all his hostility flooded out of his face as he continued, “Brother. My offer always stands and will forever stand even if you keep refusing me. Learn dream-walking. I can teach you. You can gallivant all throughout the dreams of your subjects. There is so much open and loving pleasure there. All the forbidden fruits that you have to struggle so hard to hide in the waking world is there to be plucked. No pony is truer than when their dreams turn to sex. With enough practice you will even be able to shape their dreams as you see fit. No muss, no scandal, no hiding, just love and lust in its most primal of forms.         Nothing compares to seeing someone dream of you. A mare once dreamed about us picking her as a mate. Silly I know...but you know what she did, during the dream she singled me out and picked me over you. I...It meant so much to me. To this day she dreams of me, even though she is married, and a mother at that. And even as lines spread across her face, she'll have the occasional dream in which I show up hungry for her and whisper how she is still just a filly when compared to myself. There are countless gems such as that that you will hold close to your heart for eternity and never forget.”         Solaris was moved, just like every other time they'd had this same talk. The speech drained him of any anger, and he put his forelegs over the railing and stared out over Canterlot. “Brother. I know you mean well, but, I can't turn back. The taste of flesh, the smell of sweat, the noises they make. I need them. Seeing their dreams would only drive me crazy. What happened between Dusk and I was that I found his journal, and I learned of his dreams. He's a hilariously hopeless romantic, with only the faintest hints of lewdness starting to form. He's so innocent. I knew what I would read before I opened that book. I've always suggested to my students to keep journals, and I've read every single one. I can tell the signs when those kind of thoughts pass through their minds, and most importantly I can tell the signs when they start to fall for me.”         Solaris chuckled softly before continuing, “I expected the usual things you'd see in a young colt's fantasies. But you know what I read? I read about the smell of my mane, and warmth of my breath. He's so innocent, and I...well you know the things I get up to. He's different than the others, and I want to, well...” He stopped, rarely was Solaris ever at a lose for words. “I want to stretch this out. I know I could march in there right now and do everything I've ever wanted-” Artemis interrupted, “Brother, please.”         “-Oh. Sorry. I guess I want to remain his teacher. I want to teach him all these things and see how he grows in this way. But he must grow his way, at his speed. I have forever, and this might only ever happen once. Thank you again for the offer Arty. One day I may take you up on it.”         “I still don't approve of this Sol, but I'll give you space in regards to Dusk.” Artemis said those words and then mimicked Solaris's pose by putting his own hooves over the railing and staring out into the night.         The two stood in thoughtful silence, until Solaris heard a sound. He looked over at his brother to see his eyes were closed and his breathing was short. He pondered on why Artemis's face was bright red, until he noticed the Lunar Prince's raging erection. His laugh was so loud it snapped Artemis back to reality. “Sorry. She was dreaming of me again, and I just...well I stepped in for a minute to-” Solaris kept laughing as he put his foreleg around his brother's shoulders and pulled him into a brotherly embrace.         “Tell me all about it Arty!” He said with his trademark grin.         “Ah! Back! Get back! I am indecent!” The darker prince struggled to escape from his brother.         “Not until you tell me about this mystery pony! She must be something if you're willing to watch her dreams instead of spend time with your dear brother. ”         “Not now Brother! Let me calm down!”           His eyes flashed and a bolt of lightening struck the balcony.
