His family's land has been in their possession since before the founding of Equestria, although it has decreased to the point that in the modern day it hardly extends past the the Manor itself, counting only one or two villages still in their possession. He speaks with a thick Romanian accent, and is very refined and cultured, preferring to eat only foods from his homeland, and always carrying numerous strange red wines with him wherever he goes. He is currently the professor of foreign studies at Canterlot University, although he often takes time off to travel abroad, to gather information and artifacts to include in his classes.   He is an avid chessplayer, and enjoys gambling whenever the stakes are not too high, and both gamblers are obvious gentlemen. His social ideas are a tad dated, such that he often treats waiters and barmaids as little more then servants to be ordered, considers himself honorable and obliged to defend his honor, and holding the slightest hint of disdain when speaking of races other then ponies. He considers himself a peacemaker and a diplomat, and considers it his sacred duty to maintain the kingdom and provide for its less fortunate members.   He has a great loathing of clergymen, and avoids churches whenever possible. Whenever asked on this point, he explains that he thinks clergymen are too often liars and thieves, and besides this prefers a private chapel whenever he calls upon the gods, thinking religion an entirely private matter. He primarily venerates Luna.   He considers himself a great rhetorician and speaker, and often escapes situations by deceit and underhanded tactics, rather then outright combat. His scholarly knowledge covers primarily history, astronomy, and chemistry, but he has dabbled in the other sciences. He has a great love of classical music, especially organ pieces.   Claims to be 40, actually 1232.
