NUUUU! HUWT!" >She's laying on the floor, belly down, buzzing her wings and screams in immense pain >You quickly, but gently, pick her up >"DADDY! BIG OUTCHIES! WEGGIES HUWT!" she cries >You sit down and examine her legs >One of them is bent in an odd angle >You gently touch it >She screams in pain, "OWIEEEE! No huwties! Pwease!" >You poke the other legs >She squirms in your hands and screams >"Nuuuu! Daddy no huwties! Weggies huwt!" she screams and cries >You didn't realize how much it would hurt >"Oh! Sorry, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt! Why did you jump?" >"Fwuffy wan fwy! Fwuffy jump! No wan ouchies!" >Every fluffy pony owner's worst nightmare is a broken fluffy pony leg >Because breaking a leg is probably the worst thing that can happen to fluffy >Breaking all four legs is a catastrophe >And it seems you're in the middle of that catastrophe, right now >No time to waste >Grab car keys >Drive to the vet, while petting her head with one hand as she lays on your lap and cries >She tries to wiggle them,  causing more pain as the fractured bones rub against each other >"Shh! Don't move your legs!" >"Huwt! Daddy hewp! Weggies huwt! Waaah!" >Examination and x-rays confirm your fears >All four legs really are broken >One of them is entirely in two pieces >The other three are full of fractures of various sizes >Vet suggests euthanizing the fluffy >He explains that while fluffy pony bones do heal, it's a very slow process >The bones, even if they heal, can be even more fragile than before >And fluffies are difficult to keep alive through that >And it is very expensive >It has been done only a few times in the world, because it's cheaper to just get a new fluffy pony >You look at your sobbing fluffy >She looks at you with her big eyes >"Daddeeh... hewp. Weggies ouchie. Pwease hewp." she sobs >Gently pet her head >It saddens to see your fluffy suffer so much, but you don't want to lose her >You've made your decision >"Do it. Fix her legs. I'll pay." >okay.jpg >Fluffy gets anesthetized >After hours of work, her legs have been aligned and wrapped in tiny casts >Plastic bars and leather straps render her legs completely immobilized >That was expensive! >But your fluffy pony's wellbeing is important to you >Take her back home >While she's still out, you squeeze her empty from shit and urine >You're gonna have to do that a lot from now on >Then put her on a pillow >Slowly, she wakes up >"Waaah...?" >She tries to wiggle her legs >"Wah? Why... why... no weggie move? Weggie huwt!" >"Shh. Your legs were broken, but don't worry, they're fixed now. You just have to lie down for some time for them to heal." >"Weggies? Why weggie no move? Ouchie! Fwuffy wan weggies!" Sigh... >It takes you a while, but she finally understands the situation >At least you hope so >"When weggies back?" she asks >"A few months, at least" >You're not sure if she understands what a "month" is, but she begins to cry >You gently hug and pet her as best as you can do >The casts and plastic speaders kinda get in the way >You make her spaghetti >Feed her, one spaghetti strand at a time >It takes hours, but what wouldn't you do to your beloved fluffy? >Days pass, she slowly becomes accustomed to the situation >It saddens you to leave her home alone, but you have work to do >She sleeps most of the time, though >You leave TV on, playing cartoons non-stop so she has something to do if she wakes up >You have to squeeze the shit out of her, literally >Most of the time you're at home she lays on your lap while you pet and brush her >Despite the situation, she coos happily >You do your best to keep her happy >You can't tickle her legs, so you tickle her wings >She buzzes them happily and giggles >She no longer asks about her legs, even though she can see them all the time >Days turn into months >You take her to the vet many times >X-rays confirm it >The bones are slowly healing >The vet can hardly believe his eyes, "Never though I'd see that." >You obviously CAN keep your fluffy alive through this >Finally, after almost four months, the big day comes >The bones have healed and it's time to free her from her gypsum prison >She has to be sedated, again, because she panics when she sees the cutting saw >Vet skilfully cuts the casts and removes them >The legs are indeed fully healed >Vet takes photos and documents everything >He says your fluffy is a "medical miracle" >Take the sleeping pony home >Slowly, she wakes up >"Look, your legs are back!" >She looks at her stubby legs >"Wah? >"Your legs. You got them back. You can walk again!" >Pick her up >Her legs just hang from her belly >"Wah? Wha wegs?" >"Come one, try walking a little. They're weak, so you have to exercise them." >Gently put her down on her legs >She promptly falls over >"Hey. Come on. You wanted your legs." >Despite your numerous attempts, you can't get her to stand up >She doesn't seem to know how to use legs >She looks at them >"Wha dis?" >"Legs. They're your legs. Remember?" >Fluffy looks at the legs intensely, puzzled >Then at you >"Wha wegs?" >You realize it >She doesn't remember anymore what legs are >Days pass >She still does not walk >She just lies down and doesn't move >She can't even stand on her own >The legs are fully healed, albeit very weak >But she just doesn't know what to do with them anymore! >She has forgotten what "walking" is >You try to teach her how to walk, but she doesn't learn >You manually exercise her legs, exercise the tiny muscles >"Daddeeh! No wan weggies! No wan wawk!" she complains and tries to squirm away >You show her videos of fluffy ponies walking and running >She doesn't understand what she's seeing >In a vain attempt, you even reset her >It doesn't work >She just won't walk anymore >One night, after she has fallen asleep, you realize it's pointless >She won't walk ever again >Removing her legs would have been cheaper >This is the reason why fluffies who break their legs are usually euthanized >Or have their legs amputated >Tomorrow you're taking her to the vet again >Tomorrow she'll become a quadruple amputee The End
