"That may be true." >She turned her head towards him. "But I must try. For her sake" >The door guards stepped aside as she entered.   >The antechamber was only dim long enough to cast a light spell. >The room was a blur as Celestia moved through it, pushing open the door to Luna's bedroom. >Celestia's eyes gave a cursory glance around the room. >She didn't have to look to find her sister. >She knew exactly where she was. >Where she had been in the three weeks since the storm started. >Celestia trotted over to the balcony. >There she was. >The rain lashed at her in fury. >The wind blew, trying to drag her down. >The thunder boomed as if to force her to cower from it. >But the Princess of the Night stood firm. >Even with her black coat plastered to her and her mane blowing in a gale she stood as a rock against an ocean. "But I worry she may wear down" >This utterance could not be heard over the wind. >Thankfully. "Sister!" >No response, not even an ear flick. "Luna! Please come in so that we may talk!" >A black head turned enough so that one teal eye could look at Celestia. >Celestia suppressed a shiver. >The head turned back to the horizon and Celestia feared that she would be ignored once more. >After a few more moments the black mare turned around and walked towards the relieved Celestia.   >Celestia backed away as Luna entered the room. >Her very presence seemed to deepen the shadows cast by Celestia's light spell. >"What is it that you would like to speak of Celestia" >The lack of emotion in the sentence sent a pang through Celestia's heart. >Seeing her sister this way was hurtful. >But she had a reason to be here. "I want you to reconsider your course of action" >Luna walked past Celestia with a steady step. >"No." >Celestia was taken aback. >It had been centuries since anyone, even Luna had dared to say no to her like that. >She shook her head. "Please Luna. I know that you're angry. But we can still find a diplo-" >Luna's eyes blazed with rage as she whipped around to Celestia. >"I have given you weeks to find a diplomatic solution! And what do you have to show for it?" "I-" >"Nothing!" >Luna began to turn again. "Luna, I understand that you are hurt-" >A sneer pulled itself across Luna's features. >"Understand? You, who deems herself too pure to have children?" >That struck deep. >"You, who would grant those who kill our blood clemency?!" >Luna bared her teeth, revealing her now sharpened fangs. >"You understand nothing!" >Celestia took in a shaky breath. "Luna, your son-" >"He died for me 'Tia!" >A hoof slammed into the tile, shattering it. >"He died protecting me!" >Luna's coat seemed to gather the darkness to her as she approached closer to Celestia. >"They have killed my Blood and I have Judged them. Do you seek to deny my Judgement?"   >Celestia took another deep breath as the midnight mare stood eye to eye with her. "No Luna. I came to see if there is any way to prevent further bloodshed. I see now that that was a foolhardy hope" >Celestia looked into Luna's eyes. "I will not stand in your way. You will have the Solar Guard behind you" >Luna turned away. >"Nay 'Tia. I have no need of your men. This is not a war. I will not claim any land to hold" >Celestia followed as Luna walked to a map on a table. >The nation that had sent their assassin after Luna. >Or, more precisely, Nightmare Moon as she would be known after this day. >In the hopes of weakening Equestria. >It was a fairly standard invasion map. >But something was odd about it. >"As they have stolen my Blood, I will steal their's." >Celestia's eyes widened in understanding. "You don't mean..." >"The world will remember what it means to attack my family" >She was going to raze the nation to the ground. >The door behind them opened softly. >"Your Highness, preparations are complete" >Luna nodded towards the guard and she began walking towards him. >"Goodbye 'Tia" >Celestia didn't respond. >Luna pretended not to notice her sister's tears.
