- >Day Hard Truth in Equestria.
- >You are Anonymous the pessimistic.
- >It’s been a year since you arrived in Equestria and today, Twilight became an Alicorn.
- >Her friends cheered and were happy, but you weren’t.
- >You decided to show her how terrible life truly is.
- >You planned and researched, learning all you could about the near extinct race.
- >You found that Alicorns outlived all others save for the dragon race.
- >You learned that Alicorns could recover from anything.
- >It was basically impossible for them to be killed or commit suicide.
- >From all your experiences, you’ve learned that life is never happy. There are always two sides to any coin.
- >Everything in life came with a price, afterall.
- >You decided that Twilight needed to be educated; she always desired knowledge.
- >No one else would tell her otherwise.
- >Twilight... wasn’t the most hospitable pony when you first arrived in Equestria.
- >She always tried to experiment on you, trying to learn more about your race.
- >She stole your things, and when you brought it up, she denied all allegations you had.
- >When you told the others, they said that Twilight would never do such a thing.
- >When you had proof that she did, the others simply said you misplaced them.
- >You hate this world and its inhabitants. Celestia and Luna are the only ones you like.
- >They gave you a place to stay and never asked for anything in return.
- >When they invited you to the coronation, you had to accept.
- >The only highlight of the coronation was being with the former group of princesses.
- >The coronation was a simple declaration that Twilight was now a princess and a speech.
- >You remained stoic the whole time, never smiling, never speaking.
- >You had nothing to say to her at the time.
- >The mane six had been invited to stay at the castle for a week after the coronation.
- >Your research and planning had been kept a secret.
- >No one could know what you had planned or it would be all in vain.
- >Everything you’ve done has led up to this moment.
- >You stand in front of the large doors and take a deep breath.
- >Pushing them open, you are greeted by sight of the mane six turning to face you.
- >”Hi Anon,” they greet.
- >Giving a small polite smile, you reply.
- “Hello girls.”
- >”What brings you here? You never visit us.”
- “Yet here I am with a message for Twilight.”
- >She tilts her head in curiosity.
- “Twilight, do you care for your friends?”
- >”Absolutely! With all of my heart I do!”
- >The girls smile at her response.
- “And what is the average lifespan of a pony?”
- >”Anon, what are you getting at?”
- “Just answer the question,” you state.
- >”About sixty years or so, why?”
- >Your smile grows at the answer.
- “And how long do Alicorns live?”
- >”... An average of seven thousand years. Anon, what are you getting at?” she asks in a serious tone.
- “The reality of life, Twilight. Everypony you have ever known, everypony you will ever meet will die before you. Your friends will turn to ash before your eyes. Your mentor Celestia is already in her prime. In less than a thousand years, she too will pass away. You’ll be left alone on this godforsaken rock you call Equestria.”
- >All the ponies look shocked but you continue.
- “Years will pass like ashes in the wind. You blink, and your friends will grow old; turn around, and they’re gone. Fast forward another thousand years, you will grow tired of watching everything you hold dear to you pass away. You will become a recluse. Celestia had a sister, but what do you have? Nothing. No one to share your pain. No one to know how you feel. You will wish for death but it will not come. You will try to rid yourself of the pain, but you cannot. Eventually, you too will become a mentor to a student. You will smile, but not one out of happiness. It is a smile that pleads for another to understand you. A smile happy for those that do not have the curse of immortality. You will have many students that you will be proud of but they too will pass. Eventually, there will be a student that outshines the rest. After years of examination, you too will decide to transfigure them. They will live happily alongside you. When you pass, the cycle of life will continue. It is your destiny.”
- >All the ponies have tears in their eyes, jaws dropped, looking at Twilight with pity.
- >It was simply your duty to inform her how life truly is.
- >You walk out the door hearing a symphony of crying.
- >Before you close the door, you decide to say one last thing.
- “C’est la vie.”
- >Today was a day of revelations.
