- >Day 'Another Job' in Equestria.
- >You are Anon, professional hit man.
- >These ponies don't understand your skills.
- >You are a hit man, yet these ponies give you menial tasks like apple bucking.
- >It's been a week since you arrived in Equestria.
- >Imagine your surprise when you almost fell off a castle spire.
- >You had just taken down your first target and packed up.
- >How you got here was anyone's guess.
- >The guards found you. Apparently you were on the princesses’ chambers.
- >Your suit made the guards think you were an ambassador, and after some convincing you were brought to the princess.
- >She deemed that you would live in "Ponyville" with her student: Twilight sparkle.
- >That was one week ago.
- >Today, you meet with Celestia for a "Check-up"
- >"Anonymous! We must get ready for the princess's arrival! Here, put this on. That suit went out of fashion a week ago."
- "Rarity, you gave this suit a week ago."
- >"Precisely!"
- >Well, best not to argue with Rarity. You don the new suit, even though it looks exactly like your old one.
- >"Let’s go, Anonymous!"
- "Why? It's not like she's here already."
- >"The princess will be here in five minutes," she replies.
- >You sigh.
- "We'll be there when she's there."
- >"Nonsense Anonymous! You mustn't keep royalty waiting."
- "Alright, alright. I'm going. Calm down."
- >"I suppose a lady must keep calm."
- >With that, you walk out the door.
- >Five minutes later, Sugarcube corner.
- >You and the mane six sit down, waiting for the princess to arrive.
- "Well, it’s a shame she's not here. I’ll just be going now."
- >"A shame who's not here?" a voice from behind asks.
- "Nothing."
- >"Princess!" the rest exclaim, bowing.
- >You turn around and look Celestia in the eye.
- "Celestia."
- >Gasps are heard all around.
- >"You can't call her that! She's the princess!" Twilight exclaims.
- >"It's quite alright, Twilight," Celestia replies.
- >"No, it's not! Anonymo—"
- "If Celestia says it's fine, it's fine," you say cutting her off.
- "Shall we begin?"
- >"Certainly."
- >Celestia moves to a giant pillow and plops down on it.
- >The mane six sit while you stand.
- >"Anonymous, sit. Please."
- "No thanks. I prefer standing."
- >"Very well then. Now, how do you feel about Equestria?"
- "It's a peaceful nation. No one here understands what my true talents are."
- >"And what are your talents?"
- "Getting the job done," you reply.
- >You are Celestia.
- >Anonymous just told you that getting jobs done is his profession.
- >You hardly see how he could be a manager, but you decide to let him do his job.
- "If that's truly your talent, perhaps you could take care of my nephew, Blueblood."
- >"Of course. I charge half up front, and the other half when the contract is complete."
- "Very well."
- >You magic him a bag of bits.
- >"What's the deadline?"
- "I'll be leaving for a diplomatic meeting tomorrow. I would like it done by the time I return."
- >"...Very well. I will begin preparations now."
- >You are Anon.
- >You can't believe she would hire you.
- >You had no idea she was one of those monarchs that didn't want their relatives to take power.
- >You nod at Celestia and take your leave.
- >Arriving at Rarity's boutique, you hear hoof steps behind you.
- >You turn around to catch Rarity, pouncing at you.
- >Catching her, you almost crash into the door.
- "Yes, Rarity?"
- >"You simply cannot walk out on the princess."
- "She wanted me to do a job. I told her I would get ready," you reply.
- >"Yes but... Ugh! You are impossible sometimes, Anonymous... Could you let go of me?"
- >You drop her and open the door.
- >Reaching around a counter, you grab your briefcase and take a peek inside.
- >Your Barrett M98B .338 rifle was still inside with a case of ammunition.
- >A 5 round mag, binoculars, and a box of 20 rounds sit inside.
- >You close the briefcase and walk out the door, Rarity in tow.
- >"Darling, what do you need that briefcase for?"
- "The job I was paid to do," you respond.
- >When you arrive at the train station, Rarity decides to say a few parting words.
- >"Could you give Blueblood my regards?"
- >You smile. "I don't think I can do that."
- >"Why is that?"
- "I'll be watching him a mile away."
- >"Aren't you supposed to take care of Blueblood?"
- "I'm supposed to do my job."
- >You step onto the train and go over your plans.
- >Today, you would observe him. Tomorrow, you would make the kill.
- >When the train approaches a large underpass carved in the mountain, you get up and walk to the back of the train.
- >This train is moving fairly slow, so jumping probably won't hurt too much.
- >You climb onto the ladder on the caboose and jump off.
- >You stumble slightly but regain your footing quickly enough.
- >Looking around, you see an easy spot to start climbing.
- >You climb the mountain side and get on top of the overpass.
- >Opening your briefcase, you take out your binoculars.
- >You look around for Blueblood. You remember him from your time in the castle, before you were departed to Ponyville.
- >Blonde hair, fancy suit, unicorn. That was all you needed to remember.
- >He should be easy to spot since royalty always has guards following them.
- >About ten minutes later, you see him exiting the castle.
- >You watch him for the next few hours, taking short breaks from the binoculars.
- >Eventually, the sun sets and the moon rises.
- >You put the binoculars away in the briefcase and carry it to a gap in the wall.
- >You crawl into the small gap in the mountainside to shelter you from the elements, before drifting to sleep.
- >When you wake up, the sun is just above the horizon.
- >You crawl out of the gap and stretch.
- >It wasn't the first time you slept on rocks, but it still felt terrible the next morning.
- >You take your rifle out and set it up. After loading the magazine, you insert it into the rifle.
- >You look down the sights and see Celestia taking off in a chariot.
- >You adjust your scope to the distance, taking notes.
- >A doughnut shop at 650 meters.
- >The castle spires stand between 750 to 1200 meters.
- >The city gates were 500 meters away.
- >You adjusted your sights at 700m, leaving the wind-age alone.
- >You would adjust that when Blueblood was in your sights.
- >Taking out a pen and paper, you note all important distances, along with the current setting of your scope.
- >The closest spire would take approximately 0.8 seconds for the bullet to impact.
- >The city gates would be about half a second.
- >Hopefully he wouldn't stay at the furthest spire all day.
- >A 1.2 second bullet time could be offset easily at this altitude.
- >The open air and temperature would affect the round.
- >Using an old trick you remember, you take off your suit and put the ammunition underneath it.
- >It was about 10 AM. The sun would heat your bullets at around 1 PM.
- >At 2 PM they would be hotter and burn faster, delivering a faster and more stable round.
- >You wait another hour before your stomach growls.
- >Looking inside your briefcase, you find a power bar. You always carried one whenever you did a mission.
- >You eat it and check the clock; almost noon.
- >You begin scouting for Blueblood. The next hour and a half were spent watching him.
- >At 1:45 PM, he leaves the doughnut shop.
- >This opportunity is perfect. The crowds will cover your trace.
- >You reload your magazine and chamber a round.
- >Aiming through the scope, you see a flag. It hangs limply without a breeze to move it.
- >There was no need for changing wind-age or distance.
- >You line up the shot, taking a deep breath before exhaling.
- >BANG.
- >The round flies out of the barrel, shredding through the air. A circular cone follows quickly behind.
- >Within the second, Blueblood's head explodes all over the streets, his body falling limp.
- >You break down your rifle, storing it back inside the briefcase.
- >You are Anonymous.
- >Today was another day in the life of an assassin.
- //I might do Celestia PoV when she returns, but it probably won't be for a while.
