  1. >You and Dash had spent most of the day chatting and practicing
  2. >You switched between Geddy, Nelson and Cyrus to see how Dash performed alongside different instruments
  3. >She was able to transition to different play styles for each instrument
  4. >A smooth beat for Geddy's tones
  5. >A nice upbeat rhythm for Nelson's chords
  6. >And a much faster beat for Cyrus' hardcore sound
  7. >You set Cyrus on the bed beside you and sigh
  8. >Rainbow hovers from behind the drum kit and stands in front of you
  9. >"So where do you think Twilight is?"
  10. "No idea. Checking the prices for the ad shouldn't take that long, should it?"
  11. >"Not really."
  12. >You stand and walk around the bed, looking outside the window
  13. >The sun is setting and giving the sky an orange tint
  14. "Think we should go look for her, Dash?"
  15. >"Beats doing nothing."
  16. "That it does."
  17. >You grab Nelson and wrap his strap around your chest before exiting your room with Dash
  18. >You both make your way downstairs and out the front door
  19. >"Hey Anon, why don't you play something to pass the time? We -are- going to the library, right?"
  20. "Indeed we are. And that would be across town."
  21. >"...Well?"
  22. "I suppose I can play something."
  23. >You reach back and pull Nelson up, sliding the strap from your chest to your shoulder

  25. >You strum out a few chords before beginning a series of notes and more chords
  26. >The tune is quite relaxing
  27. "This work for you?"
  28. >"It sure does."
  29. >You and Rainbow continue on the path to Twilight's house
  30. >As you walk through town, the orange sky slowly turns a shade of blue
  31. >Several ponies smile when they hear the soft tune
  32. >You pass by Sugarcube Corner and Pinkie Pie, hearing that familiar sound, pokes her head out of her window and waves to you
  33. >You nod in her direction as you walk along the road
  34. >The moon slowly rises, lighting up the darkened town
  35. >You stop playing as you both make it to the library
  36. >Rainbow knocks on the door as you slide Nelson to your backside, the strap returning to your chest
  37. >A short moment later the door opens revealing a short purple dragon
  38. >"Hey Anon and Rainbow."
  39. "What's up, Spike? Is Twilight here?"
  40. >"Yeah, she is. She burst through the door in a hurry way earlier and has been tearing through the newspaper since!"
  41. >"Weird...mind if we come inside?"
  42. >"Come on in."
  43. >Spike steps aside and allows the two of you to walk in as he shuts the door behind you
  44. >True to Spike's word, Twilight is sitting on her bed flipping through the newspaper at a breakneck pace, moving to the front page and doing it all over again once she finishes
  45. >You and Rainbow give each other confused looks before you climb the staircase and walk up to Twilight
  46. "Uh, Twi?"
  47. >You can feel the wind from the newspaper pages moving so fast
  48. >She's caught up in the paper, obviously searching for something
  49. >You place a hand on her shoulder, bringing her out of her trance
  50. >The purple aura about the newspaper disappears as it falls to the ground
  51. "Hey, you. Find any information?"
  52. >She jumps off of her bed
  53. >Her horn glows and the newspaper is lifted to your face
  54. >On the back of the front page a certain article catches your eye
  55.
  56. Musical Performance in Ponyville Concert Hall this Saturday
  57. Featuring the Stalliongrad Symphonic and Miss Octavia as First Chair Cello
  58. Concert begins at 7:30 i...
  59.
  60. >The purple aura dissipated and the page fell to the ground
  61. "Hey, I was reading that."
  62. >"Don't you see the importance of it, Anon?"
  63. >You think for a few second on the importance of a concert on Saturday
  64. >...Nope, nothing
  65. >You shrug and Twilight facehooves
  66. >"Anon, there's going to be a cellist performing and if I read the definition of "First Chair" right, she's perfect for the position!"
  67. "Position?"
  68. >Wait a second...she's a cellist
  69. >And the cello is like a huge bass guitar without frets
  70. >The cellist's knowledge of the instrument could be transitioned to the bass guitar
  71. >It may be difficult, but seeking her out may be the next step in this band thing
  72. "Twilight, you're a genius. We gotta go to this concert. What day is it?"
  73. >You sprew out the questions frantically
  74. >"It's Thursday, Anon."
  75. "Alright...well then we have a full day to prepare."
  76. >Rainbow chimes in
  77. >"Prepare?"
  78. "Yes. Prepare. How else are we going to convince a concert peformer to quit the orchestra and join a band?"
  79. >"Good point. Well we could always show her our stuff."
  80. "We could, but she might not be impressed. She -is- a performer as well, after all."
  81. >"So what? That doesn't make her better than us."
  82. >Dash has a point
  83. >More experience doesn't necessarily mean more skill or better sounds
  84. >And the skill of one cellist can't match that of natural talent...right?
  85. "Alright, we're going to find some way to talk to her. We're gonna attend the concert and try to get in contact with her right afterwards. Sound good?"
  86. >Rainbow Dash and Twilight both nod
  87. "Alright, it's a plan."
