  2. ((Disclaimer: That is not me playing guitar. That -is- me, however, singing. Enjoy the chapter.))
  3. >You lean back in the chair and release a sigh before strumming the first tune that comes to mind
  4. >Your Hollowboy Classic with it's cherry sunburst finish rings out the notes beautifully
  5. >It's dark
  6. >Very dark
  7. >The room would be pitch black if it weren't for the window allowing the sun to shine through
  8. >You notice the tiny dust particles flowing in the single ray of light
  9. >You chuckle to yourself, remembering the days before Equestria
  10. >The people
  11. >The love you felt from them
  12. >The music
  13. >All of it, gone
  14. >You missed your friends, sure. But coming here was an experience
  15. >One that you hope never has to end
  16. >The song takes over as you lose yourself in the music
  17.
  18. "Breathe...Breathe in the air...Don't be afraid to care...
  19. Leave, but don't leave me...Look around, choose your own ground..
  20. Long you live and high you'll fly, and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
  21. And all you touch and all you see...Is all your life will ever be.."
  22.
  23. >You let the final chord ring out before a knocking presents itself on your bedroom door
  24. >You cover the strings over the neck with your hand to silence the guitar before shutting the amp off and answering the door, the guitar standing next to you held up by your left hand placed on the neck
  25. >Opening the door you find Rainbow Dash
  26. >She wears a smug look
  27. "What's the deal, Dash?"
  28. >"You're supposed to meet me at the park to hang today, dude!"
  29. "Not for another ten minutes."
  30. >"Good thing I came here then. Jeez, what's with you and the dark, Anon?"
  31. >You step aside as she barges into your room, flipping the light on as soon as she enters
  32. >Your floor is littered with pieces of paper, a pile of balled up pieces lay about the trashcan in the corner of the room
  33. >Many of your 'friends' grace the room
  34. >A tenor saxophone, Rufus, sits on a stand, mouthpiece and reed in their own cases next to it
  35. >A soprano sax, Marcello, lays in its open case next to the alto
  36. >On the opposite wall lean two guitar stands, one for the guitar in your hand and the other holding an acoustic; Nelson
  37. >An electric keyboard, Geddy, sits on the wall the foot of your bed faces
  38. >Yep, you really had a thing for music
  39. >Each of these 'musical geniuses' had a name
  40. >You always developed a deep connection with your instruments, even if they were inanimate objects
  41. >You learned as much as you could about them
  42. >How they sounded, the way they did so on certain days and in certain types of weather
  43. >All these instruments you acquired through mail order
  44. >Learning that musical instruments did, in fact, exist here made attaining them your first priority when you got your own home
  45. >You were astonished at the fact p0nies could play instruments with hooves
  46. >You were even more so by their ability to play guitar with hooves
  47. >The wonders of this world never ceased to amaze you
  48. >Dash jumps on your bed and makes herself comfy
  49. "Good to know you know to make yourself at home here, love."
  50. >"You know it!"
  51. >You chuckle and walk over to the empty guitar stand, placing Cyrus on it
  52. >He was your favorite
  53. >When you hold Cyrus, you feel on top of the world. As if you could play anything
  54. "Well then, shall we get going?"
  55. >"I thought you'd never ask."
  56. >Dash jumps off the bed and walks out the door
  57. >You follow, but not before shutting off the light and taking a look at the room before closing the door behind you
  58.
  59. >You exit your house and lock it, surveying the outdoors
  60. >It's a warm sunny day
  61. >The perfect day, every day
  62. >One of the perks of living here, in your opinion
  63. >Never a bad weather day
  64. >Even if there is, you know ahead of time thanks to Dash giving you the weather schedule
  65. >Dash floats off the ground and kicks you in the side
  66. >"Race ya to the park, 123GO!"
  67. >She zips off before you can even get started
  68. >You continue your walk. Dash'll eventually get bored waiting for you and realize her mistake
  69. >You always had a way to counter Dash's attempts at competition
  70. >In your mind you thought that she'd eventually learn to stop challenging you to events every time you meet
  71. >That prediction halfway came true, as she now does it -sometimes- instead of all the time
  72. >You smile and place your hands behind your head, taking in the fresh air
  73. >Man you love days like this
  74.
  75. >Reaching the park, Dash sits under a tree tapping a hoof impatiently
  76. "Oh hi there. I believe I lost." You pronounce with a grin
  77. >Dash hyucks it up
  78. >"You're no fun, Anon."
  79. "You waiting for me says otherwise, Dash."
  80. >She smiles
  81. >"Yeah, you're right."
  82. "So what's on the agenda today?"
  83. >"Well we could play hoofball."
  84. "But look," you bring a hand up and wave your fingers, "no hooves."
  85. >Dash facehooves
  86. >"You know what I mean."
  87. "So just throw around the ball then, is it?"
  88. >"Duh!"
  89. "Haha, alright."
  90. >Dash produces a ball from nowhere
  91. >Where these p0nies kept things you had no idea
  92. >Oh well. Not something that'll keep you awake at night
  93. >Dash flies away some distance before chucking the ball in your direction
  94. >You jump up and catch it, sending it back with a good amount of speed
  95. >Dash flies towards it and slaps it back with a hoof
  96.
  97. >You're sitting under the tree, panting
  98. >Quite a workout
  99. >You look out to the setting sun, finally catching your breath
  100. >Rainbow Dash lands and walks up to you
  101. >"What's wrong, Anon? Can't keep up with the Dash?"
  102. "I would be able to if I could fly. But no, I'm stuck with these boring old legs."
  103. >You kick them up
  104. >Dash lays on the ground beside you, resting her head on your lap
  105. >"So, what's the plan for tomorrow?"
  106. "Tomorrow I need to continue working on my music."
  107. >"Aww c'mon. You do that -every- day."
  108. "Why don't you learn an instrument? Then -we- can do it every day."
  109. >"No thanks, it sounds like too much work."
  110. "It really isn't, Rainbow. All you need is a bit of dedication and time. -And-, if you're lucky, a good teacher."
  111. >"Can't you teach me?"
  112. "Well...I'm not so good at teaching...Sorry, man."
  113. >"It's alright."
  114. >She gets up from your lap
  115. >"Hey, it's getting late. I'll see you sometime, okay Anon?"
  116. "Of course, bro. Of course."
  117. >You part with a hug and a brohoof
  118. >Rainbow flies off in the direction of her house
  119. >As soon as she takes off you pull your harmonica, Betsy, out of your pocket
  120. >You wet your lips and place it to your mouth, blowing out notes in no particular arrangement
  121. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wi4stMSgDkE
  122. >You can hear an orchestral arrangement in the back of your mind accompanying your playing
  123. >You do this with almost every piece of music you play. Whether it's a drum set and bass alongside your guitar or an orchestra with your harmonica, you make anything up
  124. >It makes you wish you were part of any kind of musical group
  125. >You let loose the tunes from Betsy, getting lost in the sounds as the sky is slowly graced with the presence of the moon...
