That -is- me, however, singing. Enjoy the chapter.)) >You lean back in the chair and release a sigh before strumming the first tune that comes to mind >Your Hollowboy Classic with it's cherry sunburst finish rings out the notes beautifully >It's dark >Very dark >The room would be pitch black if it weren't for the window allowing the sun to shine through >You notice the tiny dust particles flowing in the single ray of light >You chuckle to yourself, remembering the days before Equestria >The people >The love you felt from them >The music >All of it, gone >You missed your friends, sure. But coming here was an experience >One that you hope never has to end >The song takes over as you lose yourself in the music   "Breathe...Breathe in the air...Don't be afraid to care... Leave, but don't leave me...Look around, choose your own ground.. Long you live and high you'll fly, and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry And all you touch and all you see...Is all your life will ever be.."   >You let the final chord ring out before a knocking presents itself on your bedroom door >You cover the strings over the neck with your hand to silence the guitar before shutting the amp off and answering the door, the guitar standing next to you held up by your left hand placed on the neck >Opening the door you find Rainbow Dash >She wears a smug look "What's the deal, Dash?" >"You're supposed to meet me at the park to hang today, dude!" "Not for another ten minutes." >"Good thing I came here then. Jeez, what's with you and the dark, Anon?" >You step aside as she barges into your room, flipping the light on as soon as she enters >Your floor is littered with pieces of paper, a pile of balled up pieces lay about the trashcan in the corner of the room >Many of your 'friends' grace the room >A tenor saxophone, Rufus, sits on a stand, mouthpiece and reed in their own cases next to it >A soprano sax, Marcello, lays in its open case next to the alto >On the opposite wall lean two guitar stands, one for the guitar in your hand and the other holding an acoustic; Nelson >An electric keyboard, Geddy, sits on the wall the foot of your bed faces >Yep, you really had a thing for music >Each of these 'musical geniuses' had a name >You always developed a deep connection with your instruments, even if they were inanimate objects >You learned as much as you could about them >How they sounded, the way they did so on certain days and in certain types of weather >All these instruments you acquired through mail order >Learning that musical instruments did, in fact, exist here made attaining them your first priority when you got your own home >You were astonished at the fact p0nies could play instruments with hooves >You were even more so by their ability to play guitar with hooves >The wonders of this world never ceased to amaze you >Dash jumps on your bed and makes herself comfy "Good to know you know to make yourself at home here, love." >"You know it!" >You chuckle and walk over to the empty guitar stand, placing Cyrus on it >He was your favorite >When you hold Cyrus, you feel on top of the world. As if you could play anything "Well then, shall we get going?" >"I thought you'd never ask." >Dash jumps off the bed and walks out the door >You follow, but not before shutting off the light and taking a look at the room before closing the door behind you   >You exit your house and lock it, surveying the outdoors >It's a warm sunny day >The perfect day, every day >One of the perks of living here, in your opinion >Never a bad weather day >Even if there is, you know ahead of time thanks to Dash giving you the weather schedule >Dash floats off the ground and kicks you in the side >"Race ya to the park, 123GO!" >She zips off before you can even get started >You continue your walk. Dash'll eventually get bored waiting for you and realize her mistake >You always had a way to counter Dash's attempts at competition >In your mind you thought that she'd eventually learn to stop challenging you to events every time you meet >That prediction halfway came true, as she now does it -sometimes- instead of all the time >You smile and place your hands behind your head, taking in the fresh air >Man you love days like this   >Reaching the park, Dash sits under a tree tapping a hoof impatiently "Oh hi there. I believe I lost." You pronounce with a grin >Dash hyucks it up >"You're no fun, Anon." "You waiting for me says otherwise, Dash." >She smiles >"Yeah, you're right." "So what's on the agenda today?" >"Well we could play hoofball." "But look," you bring a hand up and wave your fingers, "no hooves." >Dash facehooves >"You know what I mean." "So just throw around the ball then, is it?" >"Duh!" "Haha, alright." >Dash produces a ball from nowhere >Where these p0nies kept things you had no idea >Oh well. Not something that'll keep you awake at night >Dash flies away some distance before chucking the ball in your direction >You jump up and catch it, sending it back with a good amount of speed >Dash flies towards it and slaps it back with a hoof   >You're sitting under the tree, panting >Quite a workout >You look out to the setting sun, finally catching your breath >Rainbow Dash lands and walks up to you >"What's wrong, Anon? Can't keep up with the Dash?" "I would be able to if I could fly. But no, I'm stuck with these boring old legs." >You kick them up >Dash lays on the ground beside you, resting her head on your lap >"So, what's the plan for tomorrow?" "Tomorrow I need to continue working on my music." >"Aww c'mon. You do that -every- day." "Why don't you learn an instrument? Then -we- can do it every day." >"No thanks, it sounds like too much work." "It really isn't, Rainbow. All you need is a bit of dedication and time. -And-, if you're lucky, a good teacher." >"Can't you teach me?" "Well...I'm not so good at teaching...Sorry, man." >"It's alright." >She gets up from your lap >"Hey, it's getting late. I'll see you sometime, okay Anon?" "Of course, bro. Of course." >You part with a hug and a brohoof >Rainbow flies off in the direction of her house >As soon as she takes off you pull your harmonica, Betsy, out of your pocket >You wet your lips and place it to your mouth, blowing out notes in no particular arrangement http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wi4stMSgDkE >You can hear an orchestral arrangement in the back of your mind accompanying your playing >You do this with almost every piece of music you play. Whether it's a drum set and bass alongside your guitar or an orchestra with your harmonica, you make anything up >It makes you wish you were part of any kind of musical group >You let loose the tunes from Betsy, getting lost in the sounds as the sky is slowly graced with the presence of the moon...
