Most battles will not affect your weapon that much, but the wear and tear of constant use will eventually stack up.   Weapon Durability Effect Table (All credit to Khazard)   5 Durability            No penalty, No repair 4 Durability            No penalty 3 Durability            -1 to weapon skills 2 Durability            -1 to weapon skills 1 Durability            -2 to weapon skills 0 Durability            Weapon breaks.   Rolling a critical failure against an armored enemy will reduce Durability by one level.   Weapons can be repaired by visiting a town and telling the DM that you want to get your stuff repaired. Price for full repairing varies by weapon type. Don't be afraid to give the dude behind the counter a hard time.   Characters that have the Smith skill "Tinker" should be sure to note this skill change, since their ability can repair broken weapons.   Tinker: Can repair broken objects, restore negative quality weapons to +0, fix up worn down loot to make it more valuable or get a poorly working mechanism back into shape.   6: +1 Durability 7: +1 Durability 8: +2 Durability 9: +2 Durability 10: +3 Durability
