  1. >Day speech therapy in Equestria.
  2. >You are Anonymous
  3. >And you have been spending the better part of a month trying to fix a certain obnoxious blue mare's speaking perspective.
  4. >Unfortunately you've made little to no progress.
  5. >Sure it's possible to force her speech, but without you're influence she just falls back into her previous state.
  6. >Luckily you've got one last trick up your sleeve.
  7. >The door to your house opens with a slam as a set of hoof steps trot across the wooden floor.
  8. >You don't even bother lifting your head up.
  9. "It's open, come in."
  10. >"Trixie does not appreciate your attempt at humour," she says as she sits herself on a couch opposite you.
  11. >"And since you said this is our last lesson Trixie would appreciate it if this went by quickly."
  12. "Eight seconds in and you've already thrown everything out about what you learned last time," you sigh as you lean back in your chair.
  13. "Alright well, as I said, I have one last technique to try out. It's something I learned by no other than your old pal, Twilight Sparkle."
  14. >The blue mare is visibly angered by your information.
  15. >"Twilight Sparkle!? What does that hack have to do with Trixie?"
  16. "I thought we agreed to be nice last time?"
  17. >Trixie simply 'Humphs' at your comment.
  18. >Reaching back, you take a sheet of paper form your desk and begin scanning it.
  19. "She was even kind enough to write a list of all the steps we have to take. Are you ready to begin?"
  20. >Trixie nods in affirmation.
  21. >You smile slightly as you clear your throat.
  22. "Step one, stop being such a mule."
  23. >"WHAT!?" the reaction is instantaneous, as she is almost literally fuming.
  24. >"Trixie demands to see this paper!" she says as she tries to magically steal it from your grip.
  25. >Standing up from your seat you take one long step towards the mare and lightly flick her horn.
  26. >As she recoils from the sudden interaction you waggle your finger in front of her face.
  27.
  28. "Ah ah ah, thats not how you ask for things Trixie, try again," you say as you sit back down.
  29. >If looks could kill you're sure your house would be on fire right now.
  30. >Gritting her teeth, the mare attempts to compose herself.
  31. >"Could you show me that piece of paper before I tear your arm off?"
  32. "I'm actually pretty comfortable here, so if you wouldn't mind just walking over..."
  33. >You swear you hear a lion growl as Trixie gets up and loudly stamps her hoofs when she slowly makes her was over to you.
  34. >Trixie leans over your arm to get a good look at the list.
  35. >"I-its blank..." she muttered.
  36. >Here it comes...
  37. >"YOU CALLED TRIXIE A MU-!"
  38. >Before she can finish her screaming you quickly reach over and lightly scritch at her left ear.
  39. >The effect is immediate as her eyes lids begin to flutter and her eyes begin to roll to the back of her head.
  40. >"Oooh~" she coos as you continue your assault.
  41. >And then you pull your hand back and everything stops.
  42. >Trixie sits there, dumbfounded for a moment before she speaks up.
  43. >"Did I say you co-"
  44. >She cuts herself off with a hoof to her mouth.
  45. >She stares at you and you smirk back at her.
  46. >"Trixie demands to know how you did that!"
  47. "Did what?" you ask innocently.
  48. >"Trixie was talking 'properly' without thinking about it! How did you do it?"
  49. "What...this?" you ask as you lean over and scritch her ear again.
  50. >She immediately turns to putty in your hand.
  51. >"Mmmnn~" she moans as she attempts to lean into it more.
  52. >Once again you pull your hand away, and you swear you hear her whine when you do so.
  53. >The mare attempts to recompose herself as you lean back in your seat.
  54. "Well now, looks like I have some leverage now."
  55. >Giving you a confused look she turns to you and speaks up.
  56. >"Trixie does not understand what you mean by leverage."
  57. >You can't help but smirk at her naivety
  58. >This doesn't help settle the worried mare any though.
  59.
  60. "What it means my dear Trixie, is that if you start listening to me, and you get 'rewarded'."
  61. >Trixie instinctively gulps at this.
  62. >"And if Trix-...I don't listen?"
  63. >Leaning forward in your seat, you make sure you are face to face with the mare.
  64. >Ever so slowly, you reach your hand out to her ear, but hold it less than half an inch away.
  65. "Then I guess we find out just how good you are at self control."
  66.
  67. ***
  68.
  69. >For the next half hour, you begin revising all the topics that Trixie had struggled with previously.
  70. >With every piece that she got correct, she was rewarded with one of your patented ear scritches.
  71. >But for whenever she would refuse to listen you would tap just the very tip of her ear and then immediately pull away.
  72. >Eventually you both found out that she wasn't very resilient to your method and was being unusually attentive and cooperative.
  73. >You quickly came up with a new system so that for every consecutive exercise she got right you would scritch a progressively sensitive spot on her ear.
  74. >Even with all this you still left her constantly wanting for more.
  75. >She had to have some discipline.
  76. >"Mmmmnnnnn~" she purred as you scritch the very base of her ear.
  77. >Unlike the others, you continue your assault for a few seconds longer than normal, before slowly tracing your finger up to the tip.
  78. >"Awww~" she whines as your finger pulls away from her.
  79. "Well I don't know about you, but listening to you talk for this long is making me hungry."
  80. >Trixie frowns at you before lightly hoofing you in the arm.
  81. >"I thought you said not to be mean," she huffed.
  82. "Relax, just a lighthearted joke, anyway, we may as well put this theory into practice, so lets go get some lunch.
  83. >"Very well, Tri-...I will allow you to accompany me for lunch."
  84. >You simply roll your eyes and begin heading to the door.
  85. >The effects of your method were starting to work, but it would still take some time.
  86.
  87. >After some uneventful walking, the two of you make it to an empty restaurant and take your seats.
  88. >You just finish skimming through the menu as the waiter comes to take your orders.
  89. >As expected, Trixie orders hers first.
  90. >"Tri...ahem...I will have the daffodil sandwich."
  91. >You look up at her expectantly and the waiter begins writing the order.
  92. >Trixie quickly realizes her mistake and hastily adds a "please."
  93. >Once the waiter finishes writing the order he turns to you.
  94. "I'll just take a milkshake thanks," you say as you hand him both menus.
  95. >The waiter nods and trots back inside.
  96. >You do a quick scan to make sure there is no one around.
  97. >When the coast is clear you quickly lean over and scritch at her ear again.
  98. >She leans into it for a moment, then quickly pulls back and blushes.
  99. >Quickly looking around her she turns back to you and whispers, "Not in public!"
  100. >The waiter quickly returns with your order in tow and places them down on the table.
  101. >He bows before leaving the two of you to your meals.
  102. >Let the games begin.
  103. >As Trixie hungrily munches through her sandwich, you make sure to make as much noise as possible with your shake.
  104. >It doesn't take long for the effects of the noise to set in.
  105. >You begin seeing the tell tale signs.
  106. >Her ears flop, the slightest of frowns and her eye's twitch.
  107. >In not time she's going to-
  108. >"TRIXIE DEMANDS THAT YOU STOP THAT INCESSANT NOISE MAKING!" she yells as she slams her hoofs on the table.
  109. >You immediately stop the slurping and look her dead in the eye for five seconds.
  110. >Then you begin making noise again.
  111. >You can almost hear her teeth grinding form where you are sitting.
  112. >She takes a deep and recomposes herself.
  113. >"Would you please stop making that noise before I shove that straw so far down your esophagus that you'll be eating through it for the next year."
  114. >Slowly removing your mouth from the straw you smile as you look back at her.
  115.
  116. "See? Was that so hard?"
  117. >Trixie huffs at you and continues with her meal.
  118. >Its not long before both of you have finished your food.
  119. >When you are both done Trixie goes to open her saddlebag up, but you quickly stop her with a raised hand.
  120. "It's alright Trixie, I've got this."
  121. >"What? Bu-"
  122. "Not buts, this was my treat," you say
  123. >You quickly rummage through your pockets and pull out enough bits for both meals and a tip.
  124. >Once its done the pair of you leave the small restaurant.
  125. >You only take a few steps out before you turn around to face the mare.
  126. "Well Trixie I guess this is it," you say with a sad smile.
  127. >The blue mare looks at you, confused.
  128. >"What do you mean by 'it,'? she asks.
  129. "Well as I said to start with, this was our last lesson, and it officially ended about an hour ago."
  130. "So now we go our separate ways, I wish you luck with your shows Trixie, goodbye."
  131. >You begin to walk off but you are quickly halted by Trixie's yelling.
  132. >"Wait!"
  133. >Spinning around to face her you see she is wearing a sheepish grin on her face.
  134. >"I..well...do you think you could...that is to..."
  135. "Use your words Trixie."
  136. >"Shut up! What I mean is that...do you think we can...umm"
  137. "You want to give it another week?"
  138. >"YES!" she yells, a bit too loudly, "Umm, Tr-...I mean yes."
  139. >You walk over to Trixie and ruffle her mane a little.
  140. "Alright then, we'll keep going with the lessons, I'll see you tomorrow then, alright?"
  141. >Trixie nods meekly, then quietly adds a, "Thank you."
  142. >You return a smile, then turn around and make your way back home
  143.
  144. ***
  145.
  146. >Minutes later you're lying down, relaxing on the couch, letting all your inner thoughts run their course.
  147. >As expected, its not to long before there is a knock at the door.
  148. "I don't want what you're selling!" you yell from your comfortable position.
  149. >You hear the door creak open and realize it's started to lightly rain outside.
  150. >"Very funny, don't you ever get tired of those jokes?"
  151. >You turn your head to face the purple intruder, known commonly as Twilight Sparkle.
  152. >Smiling at her, you shift slightly so that she joins you on the couch.
  153. >"How was she?" Twilight asks as she get comfortable.
  154. "Yeah...we're finally making progress but..."
  155. >Twilight sighs sadly.
  156. >"I know you don't like using 'our thing' on her, but its for her own good, I want her to be happy."
  157. >Shifting to a more upright position you lean in closer to her.
  158. "Want to know what I learned today?" you ask with a sly smile.
  159. >"Mmm, what is it?"
  160. >Leaning in even closer you whisper in her ear."
  161. "She's a lot more resistant than you."
  162. >Twilight's eyes widen as you begin your trademark assault on her ears.
  163. >"Oooh Anon~" she coos as the effects take place.
  164. >She's become more used to this treatment however and quickly overpowers you, forcing you on your back.
  165. >As you lay there she moves herself on top of your chest.
  166. >Both of you look into each other's eyes for a moment before locking into a deep kiss.
  167. >You run your right hand along her ear and you feel her shiver on top of you.
  168. >Before you go any further however there is a loud bang at the door that echos through the house.
  169. >Twilight quickly bolts upright to look at it.
  170. >"What was that?" she asks as she turns back to you.
  171. "It was nothing, let's just..." you attempt to pull her back down, but she hops off you before you can get a hold of her.
  172. >"A bang like that isn't usually 'nothing' Anon," she tutts
  173. "Great, cockblocked by a door..." you mutter under your breath as you get up to follow her.
  174.
  175. >Twilight creaks open the door as you stand behind her.
  176. >The rain seems a lot heavier now.
  177. >Both of you take a look outside but see nothing there.
  178. >Wait.
  179. >Just off to the side of the door is a bouquet of roses, sitting neatly.
  180. >You reach over and pick them up, inspecting them.
  181. "Odd..."
  182. >"Who are they from?" Twilight asks as you turn them over.
  183. "It doesn't say, there's no note or anything."
  184. >You take one more glance outside before shutting the door, stopping the rain from coming inside.
  185. >What you didn't see was a certain blue unicorn hiding behind a tree.
  186. >Her tears silently mixing with the rain.
