>Be Anon the sadfag. >Trudging through Ponyville at night in your black hoodie. >Coming up to a familiar bridge, you spot your buddy Pinkamena sitting on the ledge. >Walking up beside her, you take a seat and stare off into the slowly flowing creek. "Hey," you greet. >"Hey," replies Pinka, not even looking at you. >You grab a nearby stone and toss it into the stream. >The ripples quickly fade in the running waters. "So anything new?" you ask. >"I had another dream," replied Pinka. "Tell me about it." >The pink pony turned to lay on her back on the bridge's ledge. >Her head rests in you lap as she watch the sky. >You hand instinctively runs through her mane. >"I see dark," she starts. "The night. Dimly lit, cobblestone streets." "Big city?" you ask. >"Nah. Small town. Could be Ponyville," explained Pinka. "It's drizzling slightly and a bit cold. My hoodie is damp." >The reminiscing send a shiver up her spine. >Pinka flips her hood up. >"Suddenly I see a bright light. A sign." "Like a hotel? Bar?" >"No. Just... A glowing neon light." "Alright." >She pauses for a minute. >Then stretches her hooves out into the sky. >"It reveals hundres of ponies," she continues. "But they didn't do anything." "Can you explain?" >"Just... Like, lips were moving and they were nodding their heads like they were listening, but it was just quiet." >She retracts her hooves and tilts her head back so she can look into your eyes. >"When I tried to yell or reach for them, it was like I couldn't speak either. I couldn't even hear the sound of the raindrops falling around me. It scared me." "That's a common thing in nightmares," you tell her. >"But it wasn't a nightmare," said Pinka as she returned her head to a relaxed position. "It just... I don't know. I was frightened of it for some reason." >You nod your head in understanding. "Please continue." >"That's when the light started flashing. Pulsing out light. All the ponies turned to look at it and bowed." "Okay." >"A wisp of light wrote words out in the air. You know how you take a stick from a fire and wave the glowing end around and it makes a streak of light?" "Yeah." >"Like that." "Are you able to read it?" >"It took a while, but I could make out some letters and words. It's in cursive and goes fast." "So this is a recurring dream?" you ask. >She nods. "Just tell me what you can." >Pinka closed her eyes and thought for several moments. >Then she looked back up at you. >"'Legends scrawled on alley walls and whispered in silence'," she roughly quoted. "Or at least that's what I think it says." "Hmm..." you think. "And then what happened?" >Pinkamena shrugged. >"Nothing. I wake up." "Do you think Princess Luna might have something to do with this?" you ask. >The pink pony shrugged again. >"I haven't spoken to her in months. I doubt it." "Do you have any ideas about what it means?" you ask. "A future Element of Harmony issue, perhaps?" >"That makes sense," agreed Pinka. "I can't say I've had much laughter recently." "I'm sorry." >"Don't be." >Pinkamena lifts her head from your lap and sits up. >"Thanks," she said. >She leans into you and you wrap an arm around her for a light hug. "Same time next week?" you ask. >"That sounds nice," she replies. >You both hop off the ledge but stand around for a moment more. "So it seems we need to get your laughter back," you conclude. >"I'll be fine," said Pinka. "Hopefully things can go back to normal soon." "You're telling me," you reply with the slightest of smirks. >You part ways once more.
