>"My name's Pinkie Pie and you're new in town you know how I know because I know everypony in ponyville and I haven't seen you before so you must be new and thats why when you walked in I went *GASP* and got the most absolute fantastic idea to throw you a "Welcome to Ponyville" party so you can meet all kinds of new friends!" >You giggled at Anon's face as he tried to comprehend what was happening just now. >You had never told Pinkie Pie about Anon living with you. And that he had actually been here almost a week. >You were a little afraid of the reaction she would have if she found out you've been keeping him a secret from everyone but Rarity. >But today you were confident enough to introduce him to all of Ponyville. >And what better way than a Pinkie Pie party? >Anon is visibly trying to ignore Pinkie Pie. >His eyes closed and hands to his ears. >Pinkie Pie can't take the hint and continues to chat him up. >Pinkie Pie eventually looks up to you and zips over. >"Oh yeah! The berries!" "We picked these for you this afternoon. They are fresh, I promise." >"That's just super duper! Sugarcube Corner only takes the best ingredients it can get!" >"So I'm sorry I can't give you more bits, but I can give you each a cake, pie, cupcake, cookie, or donut of your choice!" "That would be wonderful Pinkie. What do you think Anon?" >"Hey!" >You watch Anon run out the door and the door slam behind him. -- "Anon where are you going?" >"Ooh maybe he found somepony to invite to his party!" >All of a sudden Pinkie Pie started shaking violently. >"P-p-pinkie s-s-sense is-s-s tingli-i-ing!" she stammered out. >A full body shake? >OH! You remember this! >Something BIG is about to happen. A real doozy. >But what could really happen now? >There hasn't been a real danger in Equestria in a while. >You look out the window and see a large crowd of ponies. >Twilight is leading them. >What's going on? >Are they introducing themselves already? That wasn't part of the plan. >Twilight crouched into a fighting stance, her horn glowing bright. "Oh no... Anon!" -- >You run over to the door and try to open it. >Your momentum meets the unmoving door and you end up slamming into it. "What's going on?" >There's a magic aura about the door, holding it shut. "Twilight!" >You look out the window of the door and see Rainbow Dash and Applejack on the other side of Anon from the crowd. "Rainbow Dash! Applejack! What's going on?" >Pinkie had stopped shaking and ran up to the window. >Her looks of excitement had turned into fear. >She knew to trust her Pinkie Sense, as did you, and she knew even now that this was a very serious situation. >"They can't hear you Fluttershy! We had to sound-proof Sugarcube Corner because of the noise complaints from all the parties. If we didn't then we couldn't host anymore parties here!" >You started to pound on the door with all your might. >No matter how hard you tried, the door wouldn't budge. >You could only stare at Anon through the little window. >Tears filled your eyes and there was nothing you could do to help Anon. -- >All of a sudden Rainbow Dash rushed Anon with his back turned. "Anon look out!" >He couldn't hear you, but shouting at him made it feel as if you were helping. >You gave a sigh of relief as Anon twirled around and managed to avoid Rainbow's hit, but he threw her right into the crowd. >That is only going to make them more angry, even if he was acting in self-defense. >Twilight was also hit and her magic on the door began to fade from losing her concentration. >Your hard concentration on Anon prevents you from taking notice. >"Wow did you see that!" cheered Pinkie. >Anon rolled out of the way of Applejacks lasso and stood up. >He gave you a second-long stare that seemed to last forever. "Anon, no!" >He broke the stare and bolted towards Applejack, jumping over her and took off from town. >Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack took off after him. >You finally took notice of the faded magic and began pounding on the door again. "What's wrong! Pinkie the door's stuck!" >Pinkie rushed over and unbolted the lock. >You didn't care about the time your ignorance had just cost you. >You had to follow the others and help Anon. -- >You bursted through the doors of Sugarcube Corner and into the street. >You heard the shouts of the ponies behind you. >"Is that Fluttershy?" >"She's alive!" >"I thought the monster got her!" >They thought Anon killed you? >Did they not just see you walking through town with him? >Did they even look inside Sugarcube Corner at all? >There is no reason they should've missed you at all. >You put it out of your mind. >Right now Anon needs you help. >You can hear the blasts of magic in the distance and can see a few small lightning bolts shoot up over the hills. >And like that, you're off. >At first it's a sprint but you spread your wings and jump into the air. >You were never a strong flier, but that wasn't the case now. >You took off with a speed to rival Rainbow Dash herself. -- >You follow the sounds of magic blasts in the distance. >They got really far in the short minute head start they got. >You speed onward with all your might. >You hear a loud crash and shouting. "Oh no... Please Celestia, no!" >Suddenly a large blast of electrical energy flashes into the sky. >Your eyes grow wide with terror at the sight. >What has Twilight done? >That blast is large enough to cripple a small dragon, much less a fleshy human like Anonymous. >It takes a minute, but you finally reach the area of the blast. >You fall from the sky and slam into the ground. >Twilight is speaking when you get there. >"-but it just shrugged it off like it was nothing! Not even an adolescent dragon could've-" >She is cut off and startled at your approach. -- >"Fluttershy!" Twilight speaks up. >"We thought you-" "Where is he!" >Twilight recoils at your volume. "Where is Anonymous!" >"Who? The monster?" "He's not a monster!" >Applejack speaks next. >"Woah there sugarcube. Just calm down and-" "WHERE IS HE!" >Twilight looked towards where Anon had run off to. >"He went that way. I think he was headed for the Everfree Forest." >Oh no... >You take off again, leaving Applejack and Twilight in shock. >You didn't even recognize that Rainbow Dash was there. >You left Twilight and Applejack to untangle Rainbow Dash. >Anonymous is headed for the Everfree Forest. >With luck you can rescue him before some monster gets to him first. -- >You come across the outskirts of the Everfree Forest. >You come to a stop at the edge of the forest and land on the ground. >The dark and twisted trees loom over you. >Trying to find Anonymous in this forest is going to be a real chore in itself. >You can't just fly through it. The branches, vines, and fog would obscure your vision and get in your way far too often to be of any use. >You are absolutely terrified of this place. >But for Anon, you are willing to brave the horrors of this forest. >As long as it brings you two back together, you're willing to put your own life in danger. >For Anon. >For your love. "Anon! ... Anon!" >It had been 4 hours now. >Your shouts had become very tired and weak. >Your muscles ached. >The sun was starting to go down and the Everfree Forest is much more dangerous at night compared to the day. >The thick foliage and fog made night come to the forest much sooner than outside the borders. >You had to leave. >As much as it killed you, you had to leave Anon for the night. >You pray to Celestia the timber wolves don't get to him and that he makes it to your cottage during the night if he isn't there already. -- >The moon had already risen by the time you got home. >You run over the bridge, up the walk, and burst through the door. "Anon! Anon are you here?" >There was no reply. >You went into the kitchen. >Everything was how you left it this morning. >You went out back. >Anon's metal tub had not been touched. >You walk down to the pond to check if he was down there. >You had hoped to see him lying behind the weeping willow. But alas, he was not there. >You slowly dragged yourself up to the house. >Maybe he will come home in the night. >You set out his quilt and pillow on the floor like you did the first night he left. >You walk over to the window and look out, hoping to see him one last time, walking up to the house. >You saw nothing in the darkness. >The moon and the stars shone brightly tonight. >You wonder if Anon is staring up at the sky tonight as well. "Princess Luna, please watch over Anonymous tonight. Please keep him safe." >A tear fell from you cheek onto the floor. "Please..." >You dragged yourself upstairs to your room. >You threw yourself on the bed, not even trying to snuggle yourself in. >You cried yourself asleep, alone for the first time in a while. -- >The rooster crowed, signalling the sun had risen. >You perk your ears up, raise your head, and bolt towards the door of your bedroom. >Maybe Anon had come home last night! >You race down the stairs with a large smile on your face, ready to face the love you had lost the night before. >But alas, he was not here. >The blanket and quilt had not been touched since. >Your heart took a devastating blow just then. >Your smiling falling from your face, your head drooping low. >You didn't eat breakfast. >You just sat on your couch. >You didn't eat lunch. >You got up to feed and tend to the animals. >Some of the more aware ones took note of your depressed self and tried their best to make you happy. >It didn't work. >You went back inside and sat back down on the couch. >You had not moved Anon's quilt or pillow. >You did nothing all day. >You skipped dinner. >Night rolled around once again. >Still no sign of Anon. >You stayed up as long as you could, fighting hard to stay awake. >You eventually passed out on the couch. -- >Another day has come. >You had slept through the rooster crow. >It was almost noon by the time you woke up. >Anon had still not come around. >You get up and tend to the animals once again. >You had missed breakfast again, and not eating at all the day before left your stomach growling furiously for something to eat. >After you had finished feeding the animals, you went into the kitchen to fix something to eat. >After much thought and consideration, you settle for waffles. >You set a plate down on the table. >You set your own plate down as well. >You still do not feel like eating, but your stomach demands food. >You nibble on your food as you stare at Anon's place at the the table. >His waffles are getting cold. >You recall the last time he was here for waffles. >How adorable his syrup-soaked face was. >His voracious appetite was always a pleasure to see fulfilled. >How sastisfied he was after that wonderful breakfast. >But today, you eat alone. -- >You only stared at the ground at your hooves. >Tears poured from your face. >You couldn't stand to be without Anonymous. >The tinkling of silverware on the plate in front of you caught your attention. >Your ears perked up and you snapped your head up. "Angel those aren't for you." >Angel had climbed onto the table. >A napkin was tied around his neck for a bib and he held a fork and knife in each hand. >He continued to cut into the food in front of him. >You repeat yourself, a little louder than before. "Angel Bunny! That's Anonymous's breakfast!" >The rabbit ignored you and brought a piece of waffle to its mouth. >You brought your hooves up and slammed them onto the table. "ANGEL BUNNY! THOSE ARE FOR ANONYMOUS!" >In a blind fit of rage you slapped the fork from his hand and threw the plate off the table into the wall. >He didn't care at all for Anonymous. >Just because he thought Anonymous was gone, he would become the favorite again? >Your face was that of pure anger. >He backed down, surprised and frightened. >He scampered out of the room and left you to your tears. >You cried for Celestia knows how long. >After you had calmed yourself, you cleaned up the mess off the floor and wall. >You had just finished washing the dishes when there was a knock at the door. -- "Anonymous!" >You flew as quickly as possible and threw open the front door. >What you found was much less pleasing than Anonymous. >The rest of the mane 6 were there. "What..." >They were wondering how you were holding up as you had not come into town or even tried to talk to any of them. >You invited them in and stood in the living room with them. "How am I holding up? How am I holding up?!" >Your anger was visibly growing and your guests were becoming very worried of your deteriorating condition. >Twilight spoke. >"Fluttershy you need to calm down and tell us what's wrong." "Really? Are you really asking that right now? Are you blind or are you just stupid Twilight!" >Twilight recoiled. >All this anger... >This is not the Element of Kindness they had known only a few days ago. >Applejack had spoken next. >"Sugarcube if your talkin' 'bout Anonymous, we did what we had ta do." "And what exactly was that?" >"He attacked you outside of Ponyville. He attacked us outside Sugarcube Corner!" >Rainbow Dash spoke next. >"Yeah Fluttershy! Just because you were able to tame him, doesn't mean he won't turn on one of us! If he attacked you, then he is sure to-" >You threw a hoof and hit Rainbow Dash right in the cheek. -- >You're not very strong, but the fact you struck her put everypony in shock. "SHUT UP RAINBOW DASH!" >The Fluttershy they have all known before was gone. >Tears rained from your face. >Rainbow Dash didn't say another word. >"He was a wild beast Fluttershy. I know how much you love animals but you can't help but take care of even the dangerous ones. Remember the parasprites?" >You and Rarity spoke up at the same time. >"He is not a monster!" "He is not a monster!" >You were shocked to see how Rarity was standing up for Anonymous with you. >"He is undoubtedly the most compassionate and talented gentlecolts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting." Rarity explained. >"But he attacked us outside Sugarcube Corner!" retorted Applejack. >"That's a lie!" shouted Pinkie Pie. >She jumped in front of Applejack and stuck a hoof in her chest. >"Your lying Applejack! I was standing there with Fluttershy and we saw the whole thing! Rainbow Dash attacked Anonymous first! He was only defending himself!" >The room was now split. >Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and yourself are on one side, defending Anonymous. >Twilight, Applejack , and Rainbow Dash on the other, arguing against Anonymous. -- "I think you three better go..." >You didn't shout, but almost growled. >Twilight, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash backed out the door. >Rainbow Dash looked back as she walked out. >You gave her the coldest dead-stare you could possibly muster at this time. >She quickly turned her head and shut the door >Twilight spoke softly to the other two. >"This Anonymous is an obvious danger to Equestria." >"No doubt," Applejack said. "Do ya'll see how he's corrupting our friends like that? What happened to the Element of Kindness?" >Rainbow Dash brought a hoof to her cheek. >"Tell me about it..." she muttered. >"So darling, have you had any luck finding our dear Anonymous?" Rarity asked. "No I haven't." >You can feel yourself choking up again. "After Twilight shot him, I followed him into the Everfree Forest." >Pinkie Pie and Rarity gasped. >Twilight shot him? >And he thought the Everfree Forest was a good place to run? "I searched for him until nightfall before I had to come home." >Tears were starting to pool in your eyes. "I thought maybe he would come back home so I set out his pillow and quilt for when he got back." >You pointed to the makeshift bedroll on the floor. "Except... *sniff* he never came back." >You were now in a full on cascade of tears. -- >Rarity and Pinkie Pie were also tearing up. >Rarity led you to the couch and sat down with you. >She gave you a hug, putting your face over her shoulder. >She tried to offer what comfort she could. >You were wiping your tears in her mane, but Rarity ignored it. >Pinkie Pie sat on the floor in front of the two of you, just staring at the Anon's bed. >She was probably more upset that she lost a potential friend and a chance for another party. >But the fact that she was here now and that she defended Anon proved otherwise. >You cried for a good long while. >Rarity never let go and Pinkie Pie never left your side. >Your stomach called out again. >You barely touched your breakfast this morning before you washed the dishes. >Rarity pulled you off her shoulder and gave a little smile. >"Why darling, when was the last time you ate?" >Pinkie Pie perked up immediately. >"We need to get you some food, you silly filly!" >And with that she disappeared into the kitchen. >Thank Celestia you have friends who care as much as they do. >But then you have the other friends... >They have good intentions, but they are blinded by their prejudice and false assumptions to truly give Anon a chance. >Or to see your true feelings for him... -- >The night is coming once again. >Pinkie Pie and Rarity had stayed with you to comfort you and make sure you actually ate something. >Your heart-to-heart conversations continued until the sun was about to set. >You gave a hug goodbye to Rarity and Pinkie Pie and went back to sit on your couch. >Anon's bedroll was going to get dirty with everypony walking on it. >You fold it up and place it on the edge of the couch. >You then recall Anon's idea from earlier, and instead lay the quilt out over the couch. >Heh... It really does look better like that. >The night had come and the moon was out. >You sat in the darkness alone. >You recall the very few, but beautiful memories you have shared with Anon. >The picnic, the willow tree, the berry picking... >The tree you first met... >You looked up to see the moonlight shining through the window. >It fell directly on Anon's pack and guitar case. >Without thinking, you got off the couch, grabbed the guitar case in your mouth, and left your house. -- >The moon is truly beautiful tonight. >It was full and shone brightly down on the sleeping world below it. >The stars were plenty and clearly visible in this clear sky. >There were no clouds or light pollution to keep this beauty hidden tonight. >You were beginning to understand why Anonymous loved his night walks. >Just like the first night he was here, you wandered down the road and into the country. >There was no need for a lamp. >The moon took care of any issues you could possibly have with the darkness. >The memories of your time spent with Anonymous raced back into your mind. >There is nopony else for you in this world, and you could not continue to live knowing Anonymous had been taken from you forever. >You wandered for a good 30 minutes before that humble tree came into view. >It stood against the night sky, defiant even against the hollow darkness. >It bowed for nothing. >Not the sun, rain, or snow. >You dragged the guitar up the hill and settled down. >You layed the case down and placed your head upon it. >You started to cry again. >But you heard a voice. >A voice so familiar and sweet, there was nopony else it could possibly be...
