"ughh..." You groan as feeling starts to return to your body, and pain starts to fill your head. "Where am I?" you ask yourself as you start to sit up. You are Anon, and you have just been teleported to Equestria as a result of reasons too boring to get into, but lets just suffice it to say that you were the first human test subject of a highly experimental teleporter that your friends had just invented and built. After sitting up, you start to take in your new surroundings. "Well, at least the teleporter works, although I'm not exactly where I hoped to be". After taking a good look round, you realise that you are outside, in what looks to be a rather large garden. It is also night-time, making it slightly difficult to fully examine your surroundings. "huh, that’s odd, I don’t remember it being night when we started doing the tests. I wonder how far that stupid thing actually took me?" Suddenly you were brought out of your thoughts by a gasp. Your head whipped around to see who was gasping, only for your jaw to drop in utter shock. You were looking at a tall, white horse, with a very long horn sticking out of its head, and a very weird (and quite impossible) rainbow colored mane. To say you were surprised was the understatement of the century. What surprised you even more, though, was the fact that it was what had gasped (you assumed, although it was actually pretty obvious due to it's wide eyes, and boy were they wide). Horses don’t gasp as far as you know. This, coupled with the fact that your head was pounding due to the teleport, was enough to make you pass out. In the peaceful land of Equestria, or more specifically, in Canterlot castle, a certain princess was taking an evening stroll through her gardens before she decided to turn in for the night after a long day of dealing with nobles and other trivial matters that were not in need of her personal attention. "My, Luna has done a fine job with the sky tonight", she thought as she slowly trotted through the maze of color, which was reflecting the moon, giving it a brilliant glow. "I shall be very glad to climb into my bed, I have had quite enough of dealing with nobles and their nonsense for one day…" Celestia was ripped away from her thoughts as a bright white/blueish light erupted from a part of the garden about 50 feet to her left. She began galloping towards said light, readying her magic just in case. When she reached the source of the light, the light was all but gone, however something very odd was lying on the ground. It looked like an almost completely bald monkey with clothes on, a very odd sight indeed to Celestia, who has seen essentially every life form in Equestria, in books or otherwise. As soon as she laid eyes upon said creature, she let out a very audible gasp. Very shortly after she did, the clothed monkey thing sat up, opened it's eyes and looked directly at her. The two maintained eye contact for approximately 5 seconds before the monkey thing closed it's eyes and collapsed limp onto the ground again. After Celestia regained her composure, she did the most logical thing she could think of at a time like this: sprint as fast as she could back inside and fetch the first doctor she could find from the hospital wing of the castle, as whatever this being was, it must have been sentient (as evidenced by the clothes), and could be in serious need of medical attention. After thinking briefly through what she was going to say to the doctor, she came bursting through the hospital wing's doors, causing everypony in the room to jump and look at her. She spotted her usual doctor, and galloped on over to her. When she reached the doctor, who was slightly stunned after observing her Princess' grand entrance, asked as calmly as she could "Good evening, Princess. Is there something that you need?" After a moments hesitation, Celestia replied: "Yes, doctor, I require the assistance of yourself and two nurses. You are to follow me to the gardens. Bring a large stretcher". With the swiftness of someone trained in the urgency of emergencies, the doctor ordered two nurses to get a stretcher from the main sore cupboard, and then turned to face the princess. "May I enquire as to the emergency, your highness?" "Of course, but you will not understand until you see it" The doctor just gave her an expression that told her to tell her already "I was having a leisurely evening stroll through the gardens when this blinding light appeared. I rushed over to investigate, and found this very large clothed monkey at the location of the source. After seeing myself, I can only assume it passed out". This time the doctor had a look of confusion on her face, but it quickly vanished as the two nurses cam back with a large stretcher on their backs. "well, I guess we better go see this 'clothed monkey', to see if there's anything we can do". So the four ponies quickly made their way back to the gardens, where an unconscious Anon was still laying. "My, he is a weird specimen, isn't he?" the doctor said as she arrived next to the creature. "indeed." Celestia replied, now eyeing the monkey more closely. "Do you think it will even fit on that stretcher?" "Of course it will princess, this stretchers 7 foot long, it would even fit yourself should you ever need to be carried on it" The creature looked to be about 6 foot tall from head to hoof, which is much taller than anypony, even Celestia herself, who was about 5'5. It took the nurses all of 5 minutes to move the monkey thing onto the stretcher, as it weighed a lot more than a normal pony. "What are those things at the end of his front hooves? They look like rounded claws…" the doctor started to say as the nurses started picking up the stretcher. Celestia, although just as curious about this creature as the doctor, answered: "could all of these questions wait until we have this thing back into the hospital wing and onto a bed? It is quite cold out here now and I would rather continue these conversations and observations in a warmer and more comfortable setting". "Of course your highness, let us make haste in getting this thing to the ward then". Some time later, back in the hospital wing You awake with a start almost leaping out of your bed. You instantly regret doing so as your head begins pounding, reminding you painfully of the somewhat failure of the teleporter test. You lay back down, groaning with pain and discomfort, when you hear the trotting of hooves a short distance away from you. Wait, hooves? Why can I hear hooves? What are horses doing inside? It's also at this moment that you realise that you are in a bed, and not laying down on some grass in a garden. You are also reminded of that impossible white horse that you saw in the few seconds before you passed out. Maybe this isn't real, maybe this is all some dream, and I'll wake up soon in my bed. No such luck came as you continue to feel the pain coming from your head. This does feel awfully real though, although I really wish it wasn’t. You can distinctly feel the soft covers of the foreign bed pressing up against you, and can hear the sounds of hushed voices coming from somewhere near your bed. It is at this time that you decide to open your eyes, instantly regretting it as they are bombarded by a blinding light, filling your head with a fresh new wave of pain, so you snap them shut. Instead, you decide to try and say something: "Where am I?" Your only reply was a couple of gasps. You decide to try and speak again "how did I get into this bed?" This time you get an actual answer "I found you in my personal gardens as I was taking an evening stroll, and after you passed out I came and got somepony to bring you to the hospital wing. That is where you are currently". Did she just say 'somepony'? You think to yourself as you take in the rest of the words said to you. You try to yet again open your eyes, to see who it was that was talking to you. Ignoring the pain searing through your eyes, you allow them to adjust to the light, finally settling upon the same white horse that you saw in the garden, and who must have been the one to just speak. Thankfully, after having allowed your eyes to adjust to the light a bit, the pain in your head eases up, even if by only a little bit. "Who are you?" you manage to weakly say The white horse replies: "My name is Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria, along side my sister, Princess Luna". That information freezes you. Princess? Equestria? There is nowhere on earth that could possibly have talking horses, or ponies, or whatever they are. Is it at all possible that I could have been teleported somewhere other than earth? I mean, that teleporter was highly experimental anyway. Who knows what it was capable of. The princess breaks you out of your thoughts: "May I inquire as to your name, and also what you are?" Deciding to just be polite despite it being obvious (to you) what you are, you just reply simply "My name is Anonymous, and I am what is called a human". The princess' expression barely changed with that information, she just continued to stare at you with mild interest and curiosity. After a few moments of awkward silence, she just says "Well, Anonymous the human, I welcome you to Equestria, even though I am still more than a bit confused as to how you got here or where you came from". "Well, uhh, thanks, I guess. I'd also like to know how I got here as well" you decide to reply, at least thankful that you are at least welcomed here, wherever here is. After that quick little introduction, another pony made it's way to your bedside, and said to me "You should probably get some rest now, I may not know much about what you are or how your body works, but I can clearly see that you must be very tired". That was somewhat true. You were getting fairly tired (it may have been just a side effect from the teleport), and your head was still pounding, prompting you to want to rest to relieve yourself of the pain, and allow you to think clearer about this predicament you have now found yourself in. "I shall retire to my own chambers as well, I also need my sleep, and all this excitement has started to make me more tired than I was before". The princess said to both you and the doctor with a yawn at the end to punctuate her point. After the princess left, the doctor also did so after giving you another slightly strange look and a comment about having some late-night paperwork to do, leaving you alone to get some sleep; which took quite a while due to your headache and the infinite number of questions now swimming around in your head. You will try to find answers to at least some of them tomorrow.
