>You wondered what a sleepover with ponies were like as you hopped onto your bed to munch on a cookie. >You wonder most of all what a sleepover with Pinkie would be like. She seemed to be the type to not take the "sleep" in a sleepover into consideration. >Upon that thought, you then realised a few things that at this point seemed off to you. One, this is a sleepover with girls....but you're a boy. Two, you don't even know Pinkie too well and one of the reasons you even got excited was because she recognized your "cool". And finally, and this was to your best knowledge, Pinkie was an adult....wiiieeerrrddd. >You finish your cookie and leave the cookie bag under your pillow, saving the rest for later. And atleast one for Angel. >You walk over to Fluttershy, who was busy prepping lunch. You wanted to ask her a few more questions about Pinkie Pie. You already understood the whole friendship motif. But a sleepover with someone...pony...you barely know was rather....odd. >Fluttershy gave you a smile as you walked over. You were getting quite used to everypony smiling at any given time, making anytime there is anger afoot a very discomforting ride. >You admitted to yourself the questions you were about to ask may be offensive to Fluttershy, atleast that's what you thought. >You stared blankly for a moment, trying to think of the proper words. Fluttershy's smile slowly changed into a confused look "Anon?". She was puzzled with you just standing there. >"oh!...ummmm.." oh boy, you didn't think your question through and now you look just silly standing there. You rub the back of your head and smile nervously before clearing your throat. >"Can I ask a few questions about Pinkie?" >You begin to question Fluttershy on the subject. First you ask her on a clearer answer on Pinkie's personality, and why she's so friendly. >Her answer was pretty straightforward, she explains to you that she made it her life's very goal to make ponies happy. And to always be a friend to them, even if she'd end up being the only friend they could get. But it seems Pinkie is capable of fixing that issue by helping them get friends. >Life's goal? hmmm. You pondered on that thought for abit. It seemed way too idealistic and abit out of your spectrum of believability. But at the moment, you had no reason to believe otherwise. >Your next question was about Pinkie's age, and how you found it strange that it didn't seem to be an issue. >Fluttershy didn't answer, or perhaps she couldn't answer that one. It seems it never even crossed her mind. And given Pinkie's state, no other pony considered this either. Fluttershy can only murmur, trying to find an answer to a question that seemed to not matter in Equestria. >"nevermind". Fluttershy's silence gave you the answer, it seemed to be nonissue. So it was atleast something not to worry about. >Your next question was probably the most important question of all. "Were not going to do super girly things, are we?" >you thought Fluttershy might have giggled or smiled at the question. But instead she only looked up into the air and wondered. >Why did she have to think about it? They seemed pretty close. You felt abit anxious about the upcoming answer. >"ummm..well..with Pinkie...it's always a fun surprise" >THAT TELLS YOU NOTHING, OYYYYYYY >You sigh. It seems this will have to be something you are going to have to personally witness. >Fluttershy asked if you were having second thoughts. If you wanted to call off the sleepover. It seems she didn't want you to feel uncomfortable. >You tell her no, you didn't want to dissapoint Pinkie Pie. But in truth, you were mostly interested to see how everything was going to play out. >And so from that moment, the day played out normal and pleasently. If, abit boring aswell. You had felt about stepping out towards Ponyville. But was way to scared to do it without Fluttershy....perhaps another day. Atleast you had this sleepover to look forward to....maybe.. >The sun begins to set abit, and still no sign of Pinkie. You asked Fluttershy with abit of an impatient tone on what was keeping her. Fluttershy assured you she'd come. It wasn't really time for a sleepover anyway. >Darkness started to creep past the light, it was getting dark. >Suddenly, an explosion of light burst through the windows of the cottage as loud carnival music boomed from outside. Fluttershy screamed in terror and hid under a table as the animals inside scrambled for cover. >You yourself just yelped and covered your face, all that light. It felt like your eyes were going to melt. What the hell was that? >"Animals,Ponies, and Humans of all ages! Come one, Come all to Pinkie Pie's Sleepover Spectacular! Starting riiiiiiiiight now!" >oh holy hell, was that Pinkie? Geez what the crap was she doing? What was going on outside? >You crawled over to Fluttershy, who was hiding her face between her hooves. You shook her gently, she tensed abit. You whispered to her. "Fluttershy....I think it's Pinkie" >Fluttershy's right ear perked up as she looked at you, still shivering. "oh....ummm..mmm..I...mmm...I don't...look to scared...d..do I?" >Despite her looking terrified, you decide to tell her she looks just fine as you brush down her puffed out mane back to normal, or best to normal, with your fingers. >You both take a deep breath and stand. You take a moment to rub your forehead and straighten your bowtie as Fluttershy gets her nerves together. >"Fluttershy? Nonny? Where are ya? Cooome on! I can't start the show without you two! Hurrrrryyy upppppp" >show? there's a show? What kind of upside down topsy turvy sleepover specwhatever was this? Well....it got you curious atleast. >You both go to walk outside, you let Fluttershy lean against you abit, she was still abit wigged out. >Upon opening the door. More light shines at the both of you as you stand to witness a stage set up in the yard, chairs set up and a few already filled with animals, not to mention there were one too many floodlights, it looked like daytime. Pinkie herself was onstage, waving and smiling towards the both of you. She seemed to be in a carnie get up. How....just how.....did she get this all set up?.....HOW DID SHE DO IT WITHOUT ANYONE HEARING HER. If this is how she is everyday, you wondered how the town isn't dead from heartattacks. >"Did everpony find the place ok? I hope you didn't get lost finding the show Nonny. Because Pinkie Pie is going to show you what fun sleepovers are alllllll about" >get lost? It was just outside. You didn't know if you should even respond. >You helped Fluttershy to a seat and sat next to her. Your curiousness was at odds of hoping Fluttershy didn't have a stroke. But she seemed to be doing fine so far. >"Now before the show begins, does anypony have any questions?" >Fluttershy immediatly lifts her hoof, in which Pinkie aknowledges and asks what's her question. >Fluttershy just lowered her head abit and softly asked if some of the lights could be shut off. She didn't want anypony going blind. >Pinkie smiled "okie dokie loki" and tapped her hoof as the floodlights shut off and a spotlight lit up from above her. Fluttershy thanked Pinkie, in which Pinkie was quick to respond with a happy "no problem" >Pinkie then pointed to you and asked if you had any questions before she began. >oh boy, you didn't think she was going to do that. You tried to think of something. hoping even asking a question was the right thing to do. You suddenly felt a feint memory of something you found humorous, you couldn't remember what. But it always made you smile. >You ask Pinkie if she could point out her hoof, and yell "OBJECTION!" >Pinkie doesn't even ask why, and like a true professional, she shoots her hoof forward and yells out a very determined and confident "OBJECTION!.............what am I objecting to?" >You lose it and just start laughing, Pinkie just smiles at your reaction. She didn't understand why it made you smile, but it did. And that was good enough for her. >"Alright Everypony, time to get on with the show! Were gonna have jokes! And I'm gonna perform a few tricks! Ohh ohh, I'll even sing one of my favorite songs. So geeeettt ready!" >You just sat there wondering what kind of tricks and jokes she might have, because you just had a sense of dread about her singing voice. But you had a good feeling about the jokes. >And the jokes are exactly what she started with. Most of them were puns or knock knock jokes. And despite the audience of animals, hell even Fluttershy laughing and applauding, you found yourself fake chuckling and clapping just so you didn't seem like an ass. It seemed Equestria had a low threshold for humor, as you have seemingly outgrown this simple stuff. >Next came the performances, now this. THIS was the opposite of bad. She was....amazing. She was doing such things as balancing on a ball while juggling bowling pins, jumping through multiple hoops at once, and even doing multiple hulas hoops at once without them ever falling. How she did this with hooves you couldn't figure out, but you didn't care, you gave her a standing ovation on every trick. >Suddenly the spotlights went out. >"....And now, for the greatest and most death defying of tricks. My pet Gummy...". As she spoke, a spotlight appeared on a small, derpish looking gator. "...will jump through this hoop OF FIRE!". Suddenly, a hoop appears in the light of it's own flame. >Fluttershy immediatly gasped. She didn't like this one, not one bit. >She immediatly flew up and told Pinkie straight out that this was too dangerous. You were abit squeamish yourself, there seemed to be no way for that little guy to do it. The hoop was about two feet above him, and he didn't seem at all acrobatic. >Pinkie didn't even fight about this with Fluttershy and immediatly doused the flame. Even her voice didn't seem at all disappointed. "oh..ok, Gummy, you're just gonna have to show em your moves another time. I know you were excited, but don't worry, someday soon!" >Fluttershy sat back down, wiping her forehead with her hoof in relief. You were surprised, from Pinkie's words. It seemed like the gator wanted to do it of it's own volition. You were entertained, but at the same time. you were wondering if Pinkie's head was on straight. >Next came the song. But before it even came. The curtains closed over Pinkie. Only for them to reopen a moment later with her wearing nothing, holding two mics....wait....two? >It seemed she wanted to sing a song that was close to her heart called "Smile,Smile, Smile". But she wanted it to be a duet. a duet? You doubted that gator could sing, much less do anything but blink. >No...instead she pointed towards you. You were immediatly taken aback. You? sing? noooooooooooo, especially for an audience. >"Come on up Nonny! Don't be shy". She was giggling, but not a taunting giggle. She genuinely believed you could do this. >You pointed towards Fluttershy, suggesting she is definatly the better singer. >Fluttershy looked at you and even encouraged you to try it. >You started shivering, oh god no. But there she was. Warmly inviting you up. You didn't even...that's right, you didn't know the words. You tell her this. >"Don't worry Nonny, I'll sing first and then you can join along. I promise you'll have lots of fun if you just let loose!" >You stared at her hoof, and gulped. If you didn't accept, you'd probably break her heart.....somehow...you didn't know anything anymore. And what's worse, Fluttershy wanted to see you sing too. >You slowly stand, and step on stage. Fluttershy was already cheering you on. But you felt no confidence at all. >Pinkie started to whisper to you. "Don't worry Nonny, this is all for fun. no matter what, all you have to remember is just to have fun. I'll sing first and you can follow along. And if ya can't, just do what you think is fun. ok?" >What? Do whatever.....during a song? You don't do whatever during a song. What was she trying to accomplish?! You felt sick. You felt nothing but failure. Suddenly, you felt a hoof on your shoulder. You look up. >Pinkie is staring at you with the warmest smile you've ever seen, enough to even rival Fluttershy's "Relax Nonny, if you feel you goofed, then I'll just goof up with ya! We'll do it together!" >Who was this pony? It was like she could see past all your fears and nervousness to see your very soul and make it as bright as the sun. You felt a sense of confidence light up. You started to reason that there really wasn't anything at stake. And nod to Pinkie, you were ready.....atleast as best you could anyway. >"HERE WE GO!" And....the instruments...from...somewhere. Started to play a rather happy sounding song. >And then...Pinkie sang, with the very first words "My name is Pinkie Pie" bursting through your ears with a sense of joyful love. Her singing voice was....amazing. Did all ponies sing this good? It...it was very uplifting. >You stood there, ignoring the audience and eyeing the singing and dancing Pinkie Pie. Trying to remember each lyric she was singing. "beam, beam, beam" "but Pi-"....Damn, you couldn't do it. You just couldn't remember them enough. >Suddenly, Pinkie pointed to you "Go for it, Nonny. Your turn now!" >...... >The spotlight went on you, and that feeling of failure hit you as you struggled to keep up with the music. Messing up every lyric. You almost wanted to cry. This...was....terrible >The animals looked like they were feeling sorry for you, Fluttershy started to get worried aswell as you just sweated bullets. But you heard a whisper, it was Pinkie again. >"Don't panic Nonny, Just look at what's scaring you most and laugh. Just give it your best shot. Just pick a target and shoot!" >You didn't even know what that meant. You were close to breaking down and crying. Everything was going to be ruined because you simply sucked. >Fluttershy was really worried, it looked like she was going to call the whole thing off. >The music was just going without anyone singing, you couldn't....wait. >You started to realise that you perhaps didn't have to sing the whole song. You could just have...fun with it. >You felt revigored, and told Pinkie to sing one more time, that you knew what to do. >"Her name is Pinkie Pie!" You started. You had this, you struck a pose towards Pinkie, you followed with her "Hello!". You had it, you started to sing bits and pieces that you could remember. Using poses to cue Pinkie to sing the rest. How she even understood without being told, you didn't know. But you had a feeling she'd just know. >And so, the song portion of the show was a success. Atleast the audience thought so when they applauded at the end of the song with you and Pinkie striking a double pose. >And with that, the show had reached the end. With you and Pinkie bowing. You let out a soft chuckle. There really wasn't anything to fear afterall. >Pinkie led you backstage and commented on how well you did. You told her it really wasn't anything. That you just....had fun with it. >Pinkie giggled and told you that was exactly it. >You didn't quite fully understood what she meant. You asked her what it all meant. >Pinkie grinned brightly and told you not to think about it all too much. To just be a kid and always look at the bright side of everything no matter what. That even the scariest thing has a funny side. >You nodded, but..you still didn't fully understand. Surely not everything can have a bright side? Well, you didn't worry about it too much. Not with Pinkie constantly beating in positive reinforcement like that. >Pinkie started to disassemble the stage at this point, with Gummy sitting on her head. She told you to wait inside the cottage as she had one more surprise, and had hoped you were hungry. You smiled, you certainly were. And you were sure at this point that whatever Pinkie had, would be awesome. >You caught up with Fluttershy, who immediatly praised you for your part in the show. At first you felt you didn't deserve the praise, you really probably didn't. But you give her a grin and tell her that it was indeeeeed pretty awesome. Yup, any chance to impress Fluttershy was always a plus. >You both went inside, you told Fluttershy about Pinkie's surprise. And how it was probably food >Seemed Fluttershy may have known exactly what kind of food it was as she asked you that whatever it was, to please eat a small portion of it. She didn't want you getting a sick tummy or becoming too hyper. >That suggested sugary awesome....you liked sugary awesome. Surely sneaking more than a small portion wouldn't be too bad. You were pretty sure you could handle it. >The front door opened, with Pinkie wheeling in a good sized cake. It was pretty decorated with all kinds of frostings and plastic balloons. >At the top was you,Pinkie, and Fluttershy. With the frosting spread to spell "To being friends and having the best sleepover ever!". >Pinkie immediatly announces that this is cake for everyone, and to dig in. Which....she then immediatly does. With her face. >When in rome. You yourself see that as a fun idea to eat cake. But the moment you go to dive your face in. Fluttershy stops you by opening her wing inbetween the cake and your face. She looks at you with a gentle, yet scolding look. >"Anon, remember...small portion. You can get a really bad tummy ache or even a cavity! You don't want that do you?" >You frowned, no...you didn't want that...but..but cake...why was she denying you such love? >Fluttershy smiles at you and tells you to wait while she gets you a plate and utencils. >As she gets up, Pinkie pulls her face out of the cake and winks at you with a smile and whispers "Don't worry Nonny, I'll save you a biiiig slice for later". >And so You and Fluttershy had a small portion of what turned out to be a delicious strawberry creamed cake. Pinkie calmed down on her munching aswell, but took a few more bites. You get abit jealous Pinkie got to eat so much. And ask Fluttershy why you can't get a bigger piece like Pinkie. Fluttershy just repeated her rhetoric at you. You sighed and crossed your arms. You wanted a better reason than that....oh well...Atleast Pinkie was going to sneak you some later anyway. >Pinkie put a tarp over the rest of the cake after everyone had thier fill. There was still the actual sleepover part left to come. And you had a feeling it was going to be sweet.
