Cool, but.

Can a quadruped even favor a leg? Would that ever come up for anything?

They write and use complex devices with mouths or magic. I imagine it'd be a pretty subtle thing.

@Call I think this is evident given all the things she has done in season 2

If she's left-hooved, then it shan't be a bother for her to wear a Pip-Buck, which, strangely enough, is agreed by the majority to be worn on the front-right leg rather than the front-left.

Fallout Equestria aside, I cannot think of any notable advantages or disadvantages to being left-hooved. Though I will incorporate the implied behaviour of a 'lefty' in future depictions I make of her. So now she'll dodge things by going left instead of right, and so on.

According to McGreevy and Rogers, horses actually tend to favor their left forelegs. Fluttershy's the most normal out of the Mane 6 in this regard.

…And I have now done scholarly research about ponies. I'm not sure whether I should be proud or ashamed.

I suspect the writers and animators haven't decided on little details like handedness, and just go with whichever looks appropriate for a given scene.

That said, it would be interesting to find out if one of the ponies were canonically a lefty, and if that gives them problems fitting into a "right-hoofed" world.
