@SquiggyBomb: Oddly enough, most people I knew IRL who owned the game were girls. They apparently enjoyed the dress-up and socialization aspects of the game enough to overlook that it was basically an interactive bikini calendar. WHY CAN'T MORE GIRLS BE COOL LIKE THAT? |

@738: The strip pole scene got really boring after the first few times. First, it was the same animation used in Dead or Alive 4. Second, there is no variation when you watch it, so pretty much you're seeing the same thing with different skins over and over again. They should have at least had multiple routines for the girls to go through, and it would have been a lot more erotic if they actually took something off. I know they weren't going to show boobs, but they could have at least had something on over their bikini when they first start dancing. Add to that how ridiculously hard to unlock the scene was, and it's no wonder that everyone just watched it on Youtube.
Gravure scenes would have a lot more lasting appeal if there was some interactivity in them. Just having a scripted cinematic that you have no influence over doesn't really do justice to the video game format, and changing the camera angle doesn't really count. |
