Uploader: That's something I've been wondering about lately. How does defeating the leader change the outcome of the battle if EVERYONE is pretty competent in battle? Unless the leader is the one that has superpowers and can take out dozens of guys by him/herself, or using their soldiers against their wills, then it really doesn't make that much sense to me. |

It's supposed to be demoralizing to a particular extreme. If the king falls, for example, it is seen as the kingdom falling. Nothing left to fight for. No real right answer, it sounds dumb but that's how it works. |

@Impious
Yeah it makes sense for the kings and queens especially for Chrysalis' case. But I never understand how it works for generals and commanders, I'm only guessing that the soldiers under their command are alot more closer than I thought. |

Well, he IS a leader, directing all of the mooks you fight. Without proper direction, the full potential of the troops can't be realized. Combat is not all about battle, but strategy also. |

The leader is often the one who's proven they're stronger and more combat-capable than others. When the soldiers see the leader taken out, they think "OH SHIT, if they managed to take out the boss, imagine what they can do to us!" |

Uploader: I see, without a leader or someone finding out what went wrong and when to change the goal of the battle, I can now see how the tide of battle would change. |

Because Soldiers have it drill in to them to follow orders and not to think for their selves. |

In the battle of Lützen the king fell but the fought on to victory, after terrible casualties nontheless.

Uploader: Yeah but the soldiers who think outside of that are normally ones that become generals and commanders which brings the point that Anon #1486482 brought up, the army kept on fighting even after the king died and they won without him. Someone could just as easily taken over for the role of leader and make new strategies. So while the tide of batttle will turn in favor of Malik's and the Princess's side, they still have to fight off the changeling army afterwards. |
