@marioandsonic:

Oh, THAT'S nightmare fuel?

That gif he just showed isn't even a PERCENT of the horrors in Barefoot Gen. The scene where the nuke goes off shows some of the most graphic and horrific imagery I've seen in ANY movie.

We see a mother with her infant caught in the blast, their flesh burning as the child falls and the mother, burning to death, reaches desperately to shield the child who is also burning.

We see a dog caught in the blast run around in agony before biting a fence post to cope with the pain before succumbing.

We see a horse on fire running away from the scene like a bat out of Hell.

We see a zombie-like procession of burn-victims shambling post-blast for shelter or help, simply trying to escape the town, not even looking human anymore.

But the WORST of it is definitely the scene the OP photo describes, where Gen and his mother find their house collapsed on their family, a house which is slowly burning. The try to free the father, sister and younger brother, but are forced away as the younger brother screams for his mother about how he's burning, before the house finally collapses.

Nothing warms the heart like the secondary fires caused by a nuclear detonation.

I even watched it. Horrifying, shocking, and sadly true.

But... what is it doing on my Ponibooru?

Does that happens in real life or it was really exagerated?

Check the pictures taken after the blast. There's even an article called "40 Hiroshima pictures they didn't want us to see"

But does it really lasts that long?I thought it was like a flash and then boom you're dead

@Takuto

I think it depends how far you are from the blast. If you're really close I think you just end up instantly vaporized. If your'e farther away the massive amount of heat and radiation will burn you to a crisp.

There would be a few seconds between the flash and the shockwave, but obviously it was shown more slowly for sake of drama.

Is this a Meme where Pinkie says horrible things cheerfully?

Sorta like Filly Twilight saying racist/sexist/anti-semetic jokes and quoting Marx?

Yeah, that's what really happened. Sadly, not too many people seem to know that.
And USA didn't even apologize or payed reparations.
