Since they have been shown once and they were magenta they are canonically magenta until shown to be otherwise just shut up about it and let the artists use whatever color they want, her eyes could be yellow for all I care at this point |

Never noticed that magenta is the default color. :)
But that doesn't make the magenta eyes less canon. Unless she has a different eye color in a future episode magenta is as canon as it gets. |

This image has nothing to do with red eyes, and takes no stance on whether Vinyl's eyes "should" be red or magenta or any color. In fact, *I have no personal opinion on the matter.* This image merely serves as a semi-technical explanation for why they appeared the way they did the one time that they were visible, in case anyone was curious about e.g. why they were the same as Rainbow Dash's, as opposed to any other color at all. If you like red? Good for you! If you like magenta? Good for you! That's not the point. "It's just animation errors": only the Lyra shot, and perhaps the blue-eyed Lemon Hearts, are animation errors. All other images show the eye colors most commonly used for the ponies in question. |

Today I learned that when presenting a theory or set of facts, it's important to clarify what question you're trying to answer. In this case, a series of images intended to answer the question "why did Vinyl Scratch's eyes appear SPECIFICALLY MAGENTA (instead of blue or green or yellow or any other seemingly-arbitrary color)?" was interpreted as trying to answer the question "does it matter that Vinyl Scratch's eyes appeared magenta INSTEAD OF RED?".
