You're doing it wrong. The original X-Com team of 8 MUST survive. You're supposed to name them, find a use for every one of them, develop their skills, treat their injuries, think up personalities for every one and turn them into ultimate alien slaying machines. You can have a ton of disposable stock named soldiers on every base to deal with the usual alien incursion, but the main 8 have to be the ones left standing on top of the pile of burning rubble that used to be Cydonia, not giving a fuck, while the credits roll. |
