Well Al, they DO share the bakery mastery (Applejack being one of the best bakers ever and the Cakes depending on being great bakers to make a living)and they both have shown to be willing to compete so I say fanfic away , boy! |

This actually would make a good idea for an episode: The Apple Family vs. the Cake family get in a contest to see who makes the best baked goods (apple-themed, of course) in Ponyville. Poor Pinkie Pie gets caught in the middle between her good friend Applejack and her more-or-less-adopted family. |

My idea would be an episode where the Apples and Cakes, with Pound and Pumpkin now school-age, get together to commemorate the end of their long family feud which Pinkie Pie somehow put a stop to. Each family recounts the history of the feud to their younger kin, the story gradually splitting in two as they delve further into the past. In the end, they all agree that they don't actually remember why the two families started feuding in the first place and simply give thanks that it's finally over.
There will be flashbacks. Oh, so many flashbacks. |
