Their either sisters or lovers. The fact that they were even running together, and the fact that they both have little sisters around the same age suggests that they are lovers.
They could be bffs, cause I don't remember them dating on hearts and hooves day like Lyra and Bonbon, and Derpy and the Doctor. |

@Astronomycal ACTUALLY, my dear lad, if one looks closely one will observe that in one shot Carrot Top is wearing the Animal Team vest and Berry Punch is wearing a Plant Team vest, when in the next one they have their clothes switched. This is a CLEAR and obvious implication on the writers part that the two were engaged in lesbotic scoodalypooping, and in the hustle and bustle afterwards to get back outside, they mistakenly put on each other's clothes.

I propose a new theory: they are slightly incestuous (or fully, who knows) lesbian cousins. That would explain their closeness (lesbians) and both having damn near identical little sisters (a family quirk), while also explaining why they are not as similar with each other (they're clearly not sisters). |
