Or alternatively, I like the concept of a Fluffsplosion as a form of incredible stress and trauma to a Pregnant Mare due to the Fluffy Ponies being horrifically under-developed.
A Fluffy Mumma in most situations will give birth normally. A Fluffy Mumma in a life or death situation will 'fluffplode', hopefully scaring predators away and giving her Foals a fighting chance for the other Fluffy Mummas in the Herd to pick them up and care for them. I don't like Fluffsplosions everywhere, as I consider it to be an act of extreme stress and trauma, quite litterally something scaring the Fluffy Mumma to the point where her badly engineered body flies apart at the seams. |

I'd guess that a safe haven for fluffy ponies is a place where they are safe, and that haven now wasn't safe anymore because of lots of feral fluffy ponies going there. |

Poor old fluffies. I wonder if Haven's safe enough that the herd with the mutated dead foal could live there.
I almost expected Mist to volunteer to stay to try to protect the old fluffies. He seems the type of guy who'd want to protect everyone. the idea fluffy runts will never be loved makes me sad. I had an idea where a fluffy who had all her foals stillborn would slip up to where they left a couple runts and claim them as her foals. |

Why do runts "smell bad"? As far as I know, in all other species, runts aren't so much rejected as simply die of neglect, being unable to compete for milk from their mothers. Occasionally, mother's will reject them totally, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with smell. |
