I wouldn't say it broke any social barriers, but MLP is definitely a big part of today's internet culture.

Oh and Max was always an asshole. I don't even know why everyone's ready to suck his tiny European dick.

I think its less social barriers but I've seen people grow a LOT more optimistic

Seriously. I know some bronies that before discovering the show were just plain depressing...

I keep hearing people claiming this show breaks social barriers, but they never say what those are. It is just a good cartoon, it isn't some societal critique or anything.

You can be a man, but still watch and genuinely love a show meant for little girls without feeling imasculated in the slightest. I wouldn't call that an insignificant change in thinking.

I think, by trying to assign too much importance to this show at this point in its history, we might be appearing overbearing to the non-brony public.

This is right up there with that DA comment claiming that he never really felt as much for the Holocaust until someone photoshopped a pony into a picture of people being led away. Not sure if that's just shallow or trivializing important historical events, or both.
