Before you elect anything, make sure you actually can contact Eco or someone who can grant mod powers to others. And persuade him to do it. This isn't the first time we've planned for this, unfortunately no new mods have ever been appointed. :-( |

Well, one time Bluebell made a meta post and was responding in the comments and I believe he said one of the mod requirements was not being close the the community here.
So, that rules out most people who actually would be good mods. I can think of several. |

I still think there should be 'mid-mods'. Able to 'hide' (i.e. rate higher than explicit and thus be unviewable) pics/posts instead of delete them, until the main mods can deal with them. Easily reversable and hardly abusable. |

Well first of all, getting rid of zero-effort pictures like YouTube captions, image macros, and barely pony related stuff. And then placing more consistent tag guidelines like naming the artist and posting the source. If the artist is unknown "artist:unknown"; or if the source is unknown "unknown_source".
And then there are the text posts or even the occasional fanfics people post. This is an image repository. I want to come here to see images, not words. Lastly, this is more of a personal distaste, but I would love to see fluffy pony gone. Before I started filtering it, Ponibooru was just being spammed with green text stories. To be honest, I don't know how fluffy pony has been, but as long it's unique art I'd be fine with it. Nothing drastic yet, first simple steps to raise Ponibooru's quality. |

Mods say that stuff stays. Ponibooru isn't as much an image board as it is a Social Media site. Like a forum where chatrooms are made via pictures. What you are asking for is to make Ponibooru like every other image board. We are unique here. So no, and the mods said no. Meta, captions, screenshots stay. If you don't like it, go to Derpibooru or Bronibooru. They are your speed. But be aware they are silent. No comments, hardly. As is said. If you don't want to see something, use tags and block it. We cater to EVERYONE. |

Slippery slope argument.
I'm not saying to remove everything I don't like. I personally don't like anthro or furry, but I can recognize original art. As long the art is original (i.e., not a shitty edit) I'm fine with it. The more stringent tagging should make filtering images easier because the tagging would be more consistent. And Ponibooru and the other boorus are not image boards, they're image repositories. |

I really don't care for what you say you know that? I'm just saying what I want and believe and putting you down under my thumb and having fun. Now with that out of the way, The tagging system is fine. Just a few redundant tags, tag conflicts need to be fixed. Edits are fine. I do that for a living here. Editing photos. It's just a problem if the editor claims it is their art. Repositories/boards same thing. I see no difference. |

Pony art is simple: a picture with a pony. Original pony art is a picture of a pony, uniquely created by an artist. Real life can have pony art like the ponies in real life. But simply pasting the word "brony" onto a screencap does not constitute pony art. |

I find it hilarious LightsaberGuy made this post just because of a not pony-related image he hates that is taking a little while to get taken down.
We need more mods for sure, but a lot of you seem to hav all these strict rules in your heads that would mean the elimination of thousands of images. If you'd remove one pony-related image that isn't lolicon/shotacon you are unfit to be a mod. I could probably make an alright mod, but it would require getting more rules worked out. I think the current ruleset is too vague, despite common impressions of what to do and not. Of course, I'd never be pikked for being a mod and I probly wouldn't hav the time to do the job. |
