Gimmicks at the speed of light.
Nintendo, when are you going to realize that nobody gives a shit about the bells and whistles, and just want to play a good game? PC master race. Fuck you guys. |

Basically, it was two different languages rambling on showing you how to beat up a hundred dollar piece of machinery. |
| Yorec #1464854 2 weeks ago |
@Rhino
Ah, I see. |
| Impious #1464861 2 weeks ago |
We do get Pikmin 3 though, and a new Luigi's Mansion. So these things are good and great. But the lack of much else is... Very much Nintendo, to be honest. But keep in mind that they are absolutely depending on this new console, so they'll be pulling out all the stops. I hope.
If not, well, I still have my high-end pc and my 3DS. |
| Anonymous #1464863 2 weeks ago |
I actually found the conference somewhat decent. |
| Rhino #1464876 2 weeks ago |
I still like the concept of 3-D glasses,
Ooh that could be fun -.- |
| Yorec #1464878 2 weeks ago |
@Impious
Woah woah woah, wait. A new Luigi's Mansion?! For the WiiU? Shit, I just may have to buy one then. |
| Xevnest #1464887 2 weeks ago |
It was just really blah....
I was all hyped for at least SOME mention of Smash.... and I don't know why, but I had it in my head that a new Star Fox was going to be announced, I mean the series has been dead since 2006, and the Wii U looks like the perfect platform to revive it on to me... Nintendo Land was just "Wat?" |
| Takuto_Shindou #1464888 2 weeks ago |
I didn't see anything but my friend said it was cool
Was it really that bad? |
| Anonymous #1464910 2 weeks ago |
I certainly hope Fire Emblem: Awakening gets announced at E3.
@Yorec: The Luigi's Mansion, IIRC, is actually for the 3DS. @Xevnest: Wasn't a Star Fox 64 remake released late last year? |
| iliveunderyourbed #1464915 2 weeks ago |
I thought it was okay. I liked Ubisoft's a bit more though, aside from the annoying hosts. |
| Arne #1464918 2 weeks ago |
Oh, come on! The only bad part was the ending! Other than that, it was really good. |
| Joe_Habana #1464928 2 weeks ago |
the cool things were:
*Pikmin 3 *Lego City Stories (give it to nintendo to make a game wich name sounds dissapointing, to make a game that looks Awesome and fun, even if is Lego) *Batman: Arkham City – Armored Edition *Scribblenauts Unlimited *ZombiU (Gameplay footage) |
| Xevnest #1464930 2 weeks ago |
@910 Bah that doesn't count, that was a remake.
@Takuto All in all, I wouldn't say the conference was horrible, there were some interesting games, like Paper Mario and Weegee's Mansion, but overall just really lackluster. |
| Stormy_Brave #1464941 2 weeks ago |
@Takuto
Not bad. Just not groundbreaking. |
| Tomaster #1464947 2 weeks ago |
Huge pile of meh that conference was. |

On the bright side, at least we are getting this game:

| Mecha_Luigi #1464966 2 weeks ago |
Yeah that was...pretty disappointing...Pikmin 3 is great if your a fan of that, but nothing new or interesing besides that. SMBU is more of the same. I wanted a returning franchise like Star Fox. |
| PonyRIG #1464977 2 weeks ago |
@joe: hey, that zombie u game looks cool! |
| Anonymous #1465023 2 weeks ago |
Dreamcast 2 sounds really good right about now.... |
| Anonymous #1465100 2 weeks ago |
The hate. It's delicious!
I don't get why Nintendo's getting this amount of negativity. I personally think Sony's and Microsoft's (ESPECIALLY Microsoft) conferences were far worse off. Here's the rundown that happened today in order: Pikman 3 (WiiU) -new type of Pikman -control of up to 4 commanders (sans Captain Olimar) Netflix, Hulu Plus and Youtube support Miiverse -Social interaction via internet, which shows what Miis are following at the moment (Number of Miis gather to certain icons representative of games) Super Mario Wii Bros. U (WiiU) -new flying squirrel suit (just gliding, like the real thing!) -re-introduction of baby Yoshi's from Super Mario World, each having different abilities (inflating to fly, spitting bubbles) -[Not mentioned] No clue if they'll grow up if eating enough enemies -WiiU Gamepad player can place blocks to help fellow players (or possibly place them right over them as they're jumping, ala many trolling Mario variations on the web) Batman: Arkham City - Armored Edition (WiiU) -Harley Quinn, ala Tara Strong intros developer to stage! -WiiU GamePad controls inventory, minimap, gadget interaction. Is shown on Batman as a wrist computer -"New mode", called BAT mode, where Batman gets limited enhanced strength as he combos enemies -[Not mentioned] No word if DLC will be included Scribblenauts Unlimited (WiiU, later announced for the 3DS) -Multiplayer! (no onscreen footage, though) -Ability to create custom objects via creator. No idea if the words used to summon it in game will be automatically generated or not (i.e. replace dog legs with wheels) Quick upcoming WiiU game montage -Darksiders II -Mass Effect 3 -Tank! Tank! Tank! (that 4 player arcade game you may have seen) -Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (with WiiU specific content, such grabbing a Mega Mushroom that will embiggen a fighter. Hitting an opponent while bigger will shrink the other fighter) -Trine 2: Director's Cut -Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge -Aliens: Colonial Marines Wii Fit U (WiiU) -"My body was ready" ~Reggie Fils-Aime -Will use balance board (duh) and GamePad, the latter which will be a personal screen if TV is used -New games, one of which looks to be inspired by an earlier Rabbids game Sing (tentative title, WiiU) -Lyrics appear on GamePad, not on TV Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS) -heavy emphasis on gold coins (grabbable coin boxes that give coins while moving, fire-flower-like ability that turns normal blocks into coins, etc.) Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS) -Stickers found in the game world will act as new abilities in battle modes, among other things Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (3DS) -Multiple mansions to explore, vs just one in the Gamecube title Quick upcoming 3DS lineup montage -Castlevania: Lords of Shadows - Mirror of Fate -Epic Mickey Power of Illusion -Scribblenauts Unlimited -Kingdom Hears 3D: Dream Drop Distance LEGO City: Undercover (WiiU, 3DS) -LEGO game placed in modern day setting -Police officer Chase McCain (the player) is apparently very skilled in parkour -Changing characters = changing costumes, but retaining abilities from those characters Just Dance 4 -GamePad player can choreograph which moves the dancers need to do. (possible trolling attempts here!) ZombiU (3DS) -GamePad used for enemy location (sonar), inventory management, scanning objects (ala Metroid Prime), zooming with the scope on a sniper rifle, interacting with environment (such as a keypad) -Doing so will place player in third person mode (except scoping) until the controller is used again Quick upcoming Ubisoft WiiU montage -Assassin's Creed III -Rabbids Land -Yourshape: Fitness Evolved 2013 -Rayman Legends -Sports Connection -Avenger's: Battle for Earth Nintendo Land (WiiU) -12 attractions, probably all minigames of sorts, based off of different Nintendo properties -3 are shown --Luigi's Ghost Mansion ---Up to 5 players, one with the GamePad. Played in an overhead view ---Players need to use a flashlight with limited power on the ghost, which is only visible on the GamePad ---Ghost has 100 points of health, which drops when shown with a flashlight. Number drops faster the more flashlights are on it. Ghost will be visible while being shined upon. ---Ghost can debilitate players when snuck up upon. Players can be revived when the flashlight is used on them for some time. Flashlights need to be recharged with random batteries littering the playing field. --Animal Crossing: Sweet Day ---5 players, with GamePad ---GamePad player controls two Mii chasers (in Copper & Booker costumes) with each analog stick ---Players control Miis in various Animal Crossing villager outfits (Peanut, Tangy and two new villagers are shown) ---Players' goal is to gather 50 total candy pieces all around the map, some of which are in trees that need multiple players to shake off. All without being caught by the chasers. 3 caught, and it's over ---Players slow down the more candy they have. Players can give up candy (hurl) to get back up to speed. ---Players have a limited 4-way split screen to navigate around while the GamePad player has the entire view when both chasers are futher apart. --Donkey Kong's Crash Course ---Single player game using the GamePad ---Player controls a barrel with two wheels and must navigate a course. ---Tilting the GamePad moves the cart in that direction. Steeper the tilt, the faster it goes ---L/R buttons moves platforms in two different positions. Both L and R control different sets of platforms ---Left Analog Stick spins another set of platforms. Spin to win! ---Going too fast into a wall or landing on the barrel restarts the player at the last checkpoint they crossed -Stated to be an introduction game for the WiiU (unknown whether this will be packaged with the new system) WiiU GamePad Panorama Mode -With certain video clips, player can use the GamePad to look at the scene through different angles while the TV is static (point to the left, see the seen on the left, look behind you, scene rotates to behind view. All while the TV is stuck in one view, which is also changable) All in all, I'd think they did a pretty good job showcasing the WiiU. Sure they didn't show off Zelda, Smash Bros., or any other big names, but it's a solid showcase. Of course they had to show the more "casual" games, but that's because that's expected of Nintendo. The ones more dedicated to the older audience is just fine by me. If you didn't expect any of the bigger titles to be announced, this was a fantastic presentation. Otherwise, then yeah, it was a bit of a downer. Still, it's far from the WORST one Nintendo's ever done, and you guys know it. I wish I could forget 2009's... |
| KirbyfanNeox #1465133 2 weeks ago |
Yeah, Nintendo's conference was awesome. What are you guys smoking? |
| TurboJ #1465255 2 weeks ago |
Yeah, pretty much NOTHING Nintendo showed got me excited for the WiiU.
- Pikmin is nice, but it's not gonna get me to buy the system. - I couldn't give a shit about anything Mario related unless it has Waluigi as a playable character in a non-spinoff title. Luigi's Mansion 2... eh. - I'm not a comic fan, so I don't really care much about Arkham City. I loved hearing Tara though. - Scribblenauts doesn't interest me. - Casual games... FFS. - The Lego game looks half decent. - Nintendoland. What a crap ending. Unless they announce something like Earthbound HD, I am more unexcited for WiiU than ever. |
| EricNeoMatrix #1465256 2 weeks ago |
Pikmin 3, FUCK YEAH! |
| PonyRIG #1465271 2 weeks ago |
i am poor, so i don't care about the Wii U, but i have a 3DS, so looking forward for tomorrow.
what would you do if they announce that Project X Zone will be localized? |
| LurkerPony #1465274 2 weeks ago |
@KirbyfanNeox
They're probably not letting themselves get sucked in the hype, but ended up trying to hard to the point where it went to downright cynicism. |
| Zancrow #1465351 2 weeks ago |
Well, what did you expect?
On the other hand, The Last of Us and Beyond really blew me away. |
| Anonymous #1465448 2 weeks ago |
Yeesh, what's with all the Nintendo-hater-aid? (You'd think "hardcore" gamers would like that the WiiU controller is somewhat more of a "traditional" video game controller then the Wii-mote & nunchuck were.)
I enjoyed the presentation, and besides, guys... THEY HAVEN'T YET announced all the games they were going to, there's still a few days left of E3. I swear when it comes to Nintendo, the "whiney hardcore" gamers who only like so-called "hardcore" games (wich are mostly just typical FPS, sports, and T or M-rated action games) will never be satisified. (I don't know, Batman, ZombieU, & Ninja Gaiden looked pretty "hardcore" to me.) |
| Eliwood10 #1466562 2 weeks ago |
There seems to be a pattern with Nintendo and E3. They'll have a lackluster conference for a year or two, and then they'll blow everyone away with a ton of new game announcements the next year. Rinse, repeat. |
| Anonymous #1466696 2 weeks ago |
I saw more Metroid at the Microsoft show. That should tell everyone everything they need to know.
The show was wrapping up, just finished that second pass of "nintendo land" and how many people were clapping? 12 or so? Mostly out of pity I felt. The day before was showing off the Last of Us, Watchdogs, Beyond, and more AC3 content than I can recall. And some of you don't get what was so bad about the nintendo show? |
| I_Like_Your_Mane #1466796 2 weeks ago |
E3 is a trade show. Not necessarily the best place for gaming news necessarily.
I liked it well enough. I'll wait for shockers and surprises when each game is announced/released. |
| LurkerPony #1466888 2 weeks ago |
^^
Just because the others had better stuff, doesn't mean it automatically makes something shit. Item A may not be as awesome as Item B, but that doesn't make it bad. It could still be average or good or even great. Just not reaching awesome. Besides, Nintendo still has more game announcements for the next day. Put down the microphone until E3 is over, alright? |
