Second of all Molestia is still a me'em and it's not funny because of how it's basically been beaten into a women's brains that if she is raped or molested it is HER FAULT, and if she gets pregnant it is HER FAULT. and she is going to be FORCED to have and take care of that child.

It is exceedingly ironic to say making generalizations about Muslims are insensitive while defending a meme (it's spelled meme) which makes generalizations about bronies. I think you think there are alot more religious extremists on this site than there are. Most people on the internet are lliberals and atheists. Molestia is a series of rape jokes, but it doesn't have any of the religious extremism and anti-feminism you seem to think it does. Lots of people think it is because it takes something as taboo as molestation and portrays it in a lighthearted, comical manner. If you don't like them, you should probably stop reading them. RIB is nonsensical because it takes opposing factions within the fandom (eg cloppers and anti-cloppers) and portrays them as the same hypocritical faction. People aren't trying to defend these hypocrisies, they're trying to point out your bullshit in making these generalizations Niggertron has some valuable advice for you. If something offends you, stop being offended by it. It's not easy and it's not fair, but you will feel better eventually. Make of that what you will I'm off to sleep. |

I guess it all comes down to taste being subjective. But you missed the purpose of my complaint about the "Flank" one. My complaint was that clopping over pony porn has nothing to do with being unable to locate a horses flank. You could replace "Clop over pony porn" with just about anything and no context would be lost. And no brony thinks Lauren created the whole franchise. It's just that most bronies don't hold the previous Generations with such high regard (which is justified in the case of Gen 3 and 3.5). Some pretend that they just don't exist. And finally I can't help but think that your complaint against Molestia came off rather odd. I mean if you believe that rape isn't something that we should joke about than more power to you. The "porn" video was a youtube poop in the New York Times article. Likewise content that could be found in for any cartoon under the sun.
As for this meme and tumblr dedicated to it. There are far better ways to talk about and possibly bring to light unfavorable fan behavior. Rather than relying on the tired, old, unoriginal ,advice meme shtick. They are unfunny unoriginal and almost unreadable(not for the things posted). No one here is denying that some of these things do gone in the fandom but at the same time as Braeburn stated some of these posts don't make a lick of sense and have the consistency of the magnitude of a Cepheid variable star. All these posts aren't made by the blog owner but it wouldn't hurt to get some quality control going for it to better the consistency of the posts. Even though I think advice memes are rather drab. But like I said there are far better ways to go about addressing this issue than making a meme or even making a tumblr about it. |
