All I'm gonna say is that if I don't want to look at a black Twilight humanization because it's fucking stupid and illogical given her canon personality and appearance or a Muslim Fluttershy because it's just plain retarded then I should have a right to filter it. And that doesn't make me a racist or prejudiced. |

The stigma against black protrayals is explainable as a kneejerk reaction to how those protrayals are at odds with their equine designs. With animal cartoons, a characters fur, feather or scale color is treated as skin color, and all the main cast have light fur instead of dark, not to mention their hair colors and styles tend to clash really badly with dark skin in most humanizations. As for the Arab/Muslim thing it's twofold; If you make them Middle Eastern I point to the above explanation, if you make them Muslim than the problem is that there is precious little evidence that there is even religion at all in canon, and Islam has a set of enforced or at least expected public displays of faith that quite frankly the mane six don't have even remotely as part of their character traits, nor are most of them even feasible to add on. |
