Interesting and cruel concept. She keeps adopting potential "most faithful students" looking for the right one. Like all those before her, Twilight ultimately wasn't it.

I'm surprised cutie marks aren't used as surrogates for names more often. Remember Rainbow's clipboard in the wingpower episode? It had a punch of ponies faces - most of which looked alike. I'd figure their cutie marks would be easier to use.
