Op here, hoping to get part 15 up soon. Damn Uploader seems to be spitting chips and refusing to accept uploads at the moment, so it might be a while. Took 10 minutes for this one to finally go through, after three 'failures'.

God, I just love these.
But rockets being too much of an asshole setting his herd on danger like that. Hope he gets anal raped like waffle did. |

Finally |

I just realized how refreshing it is to have smarty friends that actually care about their herds, and not just themselves.
I also realized that I kind of miss the other stories that were being made, with the Sewer Fluffies. |

The part where the fluffy only has a dim memory of the "Great Flat Mirror Fluffy Who Knew Everything" is awesome |

Nice, waiting for the next chapter |

True enough. Nowadays it's mostly abuse-faggots with their crap |

Yes, both are good stories. |

You write the best stories, Neckbeard.
So was Cloud trying to store the fluffy milk in case they had to leave in a hurry? Not sure I understood his reasons. |
| Giant_Neckbeard #1454187 1 month ago |
Basically, the Herd has never had a surplus of food before, they have no concept of what to do with 'fresh food' except eat it on the spot.
Grass being the obvious exception. So they just eat and eat and eat, because their previous experiences tell them eventually the food will run out. When they finally come to accept that living with a Human means 'endless' food, they will probably stop doing their Super-Size-Me impressions. And the Fluffy Mares are still producing milk, because they are drinking the Cow's milk, who are getting hormone injections to produce milk all year round ... and that is flowing on to the Fluffy Ponies. |

I want to see them mention the "Gweat Fwat Miwwow Fwuffy who knew evewyt'ing"
"Fwuffies no eat so much. Fat Fwuffies be cwazy fwuffies." And I just realized there is another source of food for the fluffies in the field. The trampled corpses |

Just found the series today (can't seem to find the first five parts), lovin' it. It shows life, just life and its joys and losses. Apple Acres is most certainly A STORY. |
| Giant_Neckbeard #1454217 1 month ago |
A LOT of people are complaining about the first five parts. If you can't find them after clicking on the Apple_Acres_Fluffy_Story tag up at the top-left hand corner of the screen, I recommend F5. Sometimes Ponibooru derps simply because each 'picture' is quite massive. |

#1454198 here:
Thanks for the effort, Giant_Neckbeard, but the links lead to the picture listing for Ponibooru and the parts seem to have vanished into thin air. I'll try again later. Again, thanks anyway. ... Oh yeah, weren't the farmer's communication devices (satellite phone and such) mentioned to be damaged beyond use? How did he contact the Trinity of Uselessness? |
| Giant_Neckbeard #1454291 1 month ago |
Drove out and did it the old fashioned way. Drove into town and contacted the authorities directly. Hence the time-skip from the first day of the siege to the second day of the siege. |
| Anonymous #1454485 1 month ago |
A story about people that are all beyond stupid, and didn't know what to do with fluffy ponies.
I wish we'd rather read about the urban feral fluffy ponies than this. |
| Anonymous #1454651 1 month ago |
I see you're still pretending that predators wouldn't be attracted by Fluffy Ponies gathered. |

These stories are always a lot of fun, but they do require a bit of suspension of disbelief. Anything can be a credible threat to fluffies, be it humans, animals, nature, or other fluffies. However it's really hard to swallow that fluffies can be a credible threat to anything but other fluffies.
In some ways that's why the On The Rocks series is so entertaining. The fluffies there are a lot more competent than they're usually written, but it's clear that they're barely surviving in an extremely hostile world. Here the fact that the farmer is both kinda mentally and physically fragile from being shot, and that he's mostly trying to protect "his" herd works as a reasonable handicap. It's still a little goofy that an adult human is giving ground to any number of fluffies. Some of the strongest parts of the story are when the fluffies are in direct conflict, just because they're all of very roughly equal strength. This is probably a really silly analogy, but it's like how the most interesting parts of the Trojan War saga are when the human champions are pitting their strength and cunning against each-other. Every time the gods get involved directly it saps some of the drama because the humans can't hope to oppose them and it makes all their decisions feel arbitrary. |

@651 Yeah, I'm sorta expecting a bear to maul that pastel coloured pom-pom carpet. |

I just kind of noticed, not only did the new Smarty Friend get kind of a cruel joke played on him, but so did the researchers. They wanted to study the behavior of wild fluffies, and five minutes into the study one of their's is leading the herd. |
| Anonymous #1455023 3 weeks ago |
Hugboring story. Fluffies continue being bastards. Most don't get any comeuppance. And Cloud didn't get put in his place when implying the farmer was of lesser intelligence.
This story would be better if the farmer started milking the mares' teats into his morning coffee. To relieve their pain and discomfort, of course. All while they struggle and mewl about wape and bad touches. Because sadism boner. And helping fluffies. |

The Siege begins at the tail end of autumn, I think every animal is hunkering down for hibernation. |
| Tabula_Rojo #1455106 3 weeks ago |
yeah Neckbeard you should have the research Fluffies have to deal with Wildlife, help them to learn the harsh reality of the life of a feral fluffy pone |
| Anonymous #1455221 3 weeks ago |
I think the reactions from the ferals concerning the lab fluffies is probably a LOT better than what the scientists were expecting. Herd B is accepting their labs with open arms and Herd A just elected on of the lab fluffies to be the new Smarty friend despite his protests.
Ignore Herd B and regulate them to side comments just to keep us periodically informed. Herd A, however, I want to hear more of, as I want to see more of the lab fluffy smarty. Also interesting is Cloud's very first true moral crisis, probably one the few times ANY fluffy has them. Again, interesting. |

Wonderful story, as always. I honestly though the part with Cloud figuring out how to lie was awesome. Your fluffy p.o.v is the best |
| Giant_Neckbeard #1456170 3 weeks ago |
Couple of things:
The Feral Herds will be encountering wild animals. Squirrels, Bears, maybe Dogs. Farmer probably will start trying to milk the Mares, if only to give them some respite from the sheer volume of milk they are producing. What use the Milk will be however .... I dunno at this stage. @ Anon #4710 I will admit that On_The_Rocks holds a very unique appeal to me to, partly because it is only Fluffies at work, so when the Humans do appear, they are going to be these mythical, horrific monsters to the Fluffy Ponies. And partly because I take a great deal of inspiration from some of my favourite movies and video games to write it. Watership Downs. Matrix Trilogy. Alien and Aliens. Fallout. That furry creature sim-game set in the space ship, the name escapes me. The Road. |
