Saint- That explains almost everything. Chrysalis's queenhood (as a breeding mare of the royal line), BB's princehood, and Chrysalis's slowly getting drunk in the second panel. Just not who the father was later that night. |

It would(somewhat)explain it,but take a better look at the second panel: She's holding the love potion of that tale of Hearts and Hooves day episode and that King is clearly the one of said tale. She's not getting drunk and if we go by part of your idea,that king would be the father. |

I really really like the love Poison theory for Chrysalis and the Changelings' origin story. I can imagine Alicorns as Equestria's "High Elves," extremely magical but prone to catastrophic disaster and therefore rare in the modern age. |

^^I feel like I saw one once on EQD but damn if Chrysalis doesn't even have a fanfic tag yet. I've looked on the tag generator and it isn't there, so I can't exactly find it, unfortunately. |
