Actually, changing to a completely new place pretty much saved my life once. I was a complete wreck till I "upended the tea-table" and went to a whole new town.
You'd be surprised how much a change of pace can help. |

Well I don't really know who this guy is talking about in particular, but I think my cheerful friendly self would make an alright impression on the ponies of Ponyville.

Same here. I lived most of my life where I now reside, West Texas. Moving for a while introduced me to lots of new friends, a college I thoroughly enjoyed, and I met the woman that would be my girlfriend for 5 years and we lived together for 4 years afterwords. I think perhaps he's trying to make some kind of existential statement about how going somewhere else doesn't change your core being or some shit but I've talked to precious few people who haven't changed, grown, or learned from experiences of being in a new place or new dynamic. |

Wouldn't want to move to appear in Equestria though I'd miss my friends too much and magical ponies do not make up for the few people I've known and gotten along with for thirteen years |

I live out in the middle of BFE. If I were to live in a town where any kind of travel has to be done by walking less than half a mile, I assure you, I would be a more social person. But as it is, I'm not going to walk 7 miles to the closest town to talk to people. |

Fun story about that Hoers. Down near me is a shitehole of the earth called Bedford County VA, and in that county is a man who has spent 60'some years...IN THE SAME PLACE. For 60 some years he's walked the same 4 miles area... And I don't mean just lived there, I mean he's never left there in 60 some years.

Yeah, I'll take the other side of the issue.
Some people aren't good with people. The ponies are basically people except the only difference is that they have magic/can fly/have special connection with nature and animals. Those don't seem to have a lot to do with human interaction. Some geniuses are that way, some people with developmental disabilities are that way, some people with a traumatic event(s) in their past have become that way, some people with a long string of events that helped to make them into cynical, sarcastic, lazy people are that way. A drastic change in scenery may have an effect on some people. Some people are in socially "oppressive" situations that make being unapproachable the best course of action, and changing the situation would immediately (or close to immediately) change their approach to the world. But some people have already had that change. Either when they moved to a different school, different town, or a different situation. And things don't get better for them for a lot of different reasons. And just as some people can usually turn their social situation into something good, there are some who can usually turn it into something bad. He was just being a jerk about it. tl;dr: He's right for more people than you guys are letting on. And it could be for a higher percentage of people who had never had success in their social lives than it would be for bronies on the whole. But, of course, he's not right for everyone or perhaps even most bronies. |

I think i matured to grasp "friendship" or socializing thing...yeah yeah everyone goes through that phase they grow out of it. (unlike CWC) Sure I may have some faults in shy but I can get by and not bothered with it. One problem i had was females can be just friends thing. guess im a late bloomer on that department lol. |
