I'd come up with a rebuttal towards your disregard of Applejack and towards wanting more from Rarity shipping, but then I remembered I'd be arguing about what ponies on a kid's show should and should not be romantically paired together in fanmade fiction and fanart together more. |

I think Picard hit it right in the nose. She is blatantly heterosexual and....well....this might sound harsh but....the fashionista persona is a female stereotype that died more then a decade ago. Rarity makes it work and she is one of my favorites, but as far as shipping goes, you don't have much room to experiment with. |

Just because Rarity is feminine in almost every possible way, doesn't mean she can't be interested in the same sex. She can always be bisexual, and I speak from personal experience. |

^ I think their point is that she is not only the sole mane 6 member to show an interest in romance, she is shown to be explicitly interested in males. For a character that is shown to know how to and enjoy flirting, surely she would have shown some interest in mares by this point. |

^ I understand how a shipper's mind works just fine, its not exactly complex and I say that as a shipper myself. I was simply explaining what everyone else had already said. For a character who is actively seeking love, she only seems to target males, despite the huge female population. That's why Rarity tends to be the pony most depicted as heterosexual in fanworks. Which isn't really saying much honestly.
Also, I don't recall anyone saying lesbian shipping was wrong, though I certainly find it boring at this point. Which only makes sense considering the fandom is pretty much all lesbian shipping. |

In the theoretical situation that she was bisexual, she might just not have come to terms with it yet, or is still in the closet, or hasn't met a female who she has interest in yet, or whatever. I guess my take on it is, until any of them are shown to NOT be interested in the same sex, or are paired in canon with a male character than it can still be up for debate. |

^ And that's a fine interpretation, and I doubt even a full on wedding would stop shippers. It certainly hasn't for Cadence.
As for my own take on why she gets shipped the least, I'd offer up a more simple solution. A lot of people don't like her, so they don't ship her. |
