but... the FIM-ponies already know what death is... and sex... just because it isn't mentioned word-for-word in a kids-cartoon doesn't mean it didn't happen, especially in a show like FIM with many, many, many get-crap-past-the-radar-moments... So... this joke doesn't really work for me... |

but... I always thought Max knew, what he was doing... especially after that pretty heartwarming blog-entry about his love for FIM Ok, maybe I'm overreacting, this casket-scene was an extremely (intentionally) minor scene, so maybe he just forgot... Perhaps the twist could be that they're not really in Equestria Prime, but another universe that thinks its Equestria Prime. And since they are just mimics of the real thing they might not have a concept of what death is.

If you're going to suggest a fundamental biological concept doesn't exist in Equestria, it's either your allotment of handwavium or it behooves you to do your research.
Speccy's FlutterPie Tumblr indulged the magic lesbian pony babies concept but was otherwise true to source, allowing for content the show won't touch on. Dimensional travel apples pretty much uses up your suspension of disbelief. |

If there's no death, how can they have arguments about what happened in 7000 BC? How come ponies have to be told about Nightmare Moon and Discord? Shouldn't all the ponies from back then be alive? Shouldn't ponies talk about historical figures like Starswirl in the present tense?
Do old ponies have to be creaky and wrinkly forever? There's implied threat of death anytime ponies are afraid of being eaten by a monster. And they specifically use the word "eaten" in at least Dragonshy and Secret of My Excess. @Offensive: It seems to have stopped trying to be a parody a while ago. |

I dont think its that they dont know what death is but rather they dont know the word "die" means. Basically the tvtrope "Never Say Die" taken to a serious degree of them not even having it in their vocabulary. |

Guys, given what OTHER aspects of MLP the artist has changed, such as Twilight HAVING A FUCKING PDA or pulling the whole TITANS OF HARMONY backstory out of his arse, or the ENTIRE ALTERNATE WORLD THING TO BEGIN WITH, isn't it safe to assume he's going to change other elements of the canon to suit the story he's trying to tell?
What fun would there be in a fan fic (Or whatever you want to call this) if it stuck to the show's canon 100%. I got news for you, if you want some MLP that's 100% canon, I got just the thing for you to watch. It's called THE FREAKING SHOW. |
