If she IS brown then she shouldn't be, if you know what I'm saying. If one's black/brown then other has to be such as well, unless they had different fathers. |

No need for them to have the same skin color. It's a simple matter of what genes they get from their parents. As the parents might have a variety of genes for skin color, the results can be mixed from offspring to offspring, resulting in different skin colors. Therefore, it is fully possible for two children with the same parents to have totally different skin colors, it's just not very normal. |

There is also the minor point of then being, y'now, GODS, Luna could have darker skin tone to represent the night, while Celestia could have lighter skin tone to represent the day. |
