It bullied a fluffy smaller than it and it was a thief. Not sure if it should have been denied a good home though, even though the shelter doesn't seem to bad.

Now that I think of it, this may have been inspired by "All Summer in a Day", a Ray Bradbury story.
In it, people in the future have cultivated Venus and live there but it rains constantly. The sun only comes out once every 20 years for a couple of hours or something. This one little girl, new in her class, lived on Earth before and saw the sun all the time but the other children are ignorant and don't believe her. They bully her and lock her in a closet. Then the 2-hour window comes and the sun does come out. But when the rain starts to come back, the children realize they left the girl locked in the closet and she missed the whole thing. They go back to the classroom to let her out, feeling like complete assholes. Anyway, liked the story. |

In the written story it's not as one-way tragic as the TV adaptation. It's implied the girl's parents were thinking about moving back to Earth anyway.
It's the other "smawty fwiend" kids who locked her in the closet who will have to wait 20 years to see the sun again. |
