It was a ruse. The Cadance Twilight rescued is also a changeling who has been pretending to be Cadance since Shining Armor became captain of the royal guard. |

They's have established a peaceful utopia that simultanously allow ponies to live in perfect harmony and their own kind to feed.

Chrysalis was whith Shining armor and was cuddling and all that kind of things, so in return she was recieving a lot of ¨Food¨ from him
His minions in the other hand took other aproach inmovilizing the guards and terrorizing the citizens and visitors of Canterlot, splitting the families they saw and then i imagined they took forms of some of them so the others get worried about them if they saw them being attacked, some of them got worried and tried to protect they family members/friends/lovers only to be deceived... how this feeds the changelings? easy the mere toughts and trying to protect give food to changelings... even if they become aware that they were changelings they get more worried because they don´t see their loved ones and yada yada Tl:DR changelings terrorized to make them worried about others and mas feed |
