There are three mods:
Eco
Bluebell
Feather

People say all kinds of bad things about them already because they're not satisfied with how much they put into this site, so I will refrain from doing so. I will agree though that they are not NEARLY as active on here as they should be if they're going to be mods.
I know this has been said many times, but in all complete honesty, there NEEDS to be more than just 3 mods, especially if those mods aren't even HALF as active as the lesser-known members here.
Eco, Bluebell, Feather, if any of you see this PLEASE take this into serious consideration.

We regular users simply need more power. Give comments a score and let them get hidden if the score is to low.
Automatically hide submissions when they get reported many times in a short while, where a mod has to review them and judge if it really breaks any rules.

I can agree with the comment scoring, but doing a reporting system like that, and you'll have the same problem dA has with trolls and other idiots abusing it, putting more work on the already limited number of mods.

You know, now that I think of it...
BigMax, if you're online/reading this, you think it'd be possible to implement a comment scoring system on the Booru-Helper script?
Or maybe just an option for people to hide specific comments on a page they don't want to see?

Which why multiple reports on a short time span, like a few hours, should be the lowest limit.
It's mostly for submissions everyone would report when they see them.

A single person shouldn't be able to abuse it. But a group of trolls, yes.

I like posting gifs. :/

Still, we need more active mods. They should give regular users who have shown restraint and followed the rules more power to flag things and such to streamline the process. I know many of the named users here would use their powers for good.

Yep had the same problem as OP and completely agree. Hell I was having a problem with submitting and I couldn't find anyone to contact. There just isn't anyone listed. Things really need some work, in part because of pics like those, and in part on the general disorganization of everything else.

I'm going to chime in. I think that the mods are on more often than we think, but they have a very light-handed approach to moderation.

I think part of that is because this is Ponibooru. I don't know of another site that has this much decent meta (not considering the weak meta,) artwork, news, screencaps, vectors, and discussion in this manner. It's a monopoly of sorts. What are we going to do? Go to another site? They can do (or not do) whatever.

But I think they also don't want this to feel like this is a "No fun allowed" site. I've had a few comments removed from EqD before, and a lot of other forums have strict rules for posting.

However, I tend to feel like others do here. If there are three mods (I've only seen Eco,) then that's nearly not enough. I think they know their capacity, and they aren't trying to stress themselves on good moderation. They just keep it patched and let the site do what it does. The users will keep returning unless something terrible occurs, so that's what they're focused on preventing.

Also, voting will get abused. Know Your Meme has problems with karma spam, so some posts get needlessly hidden for no reason. Unless you restrict it to registered users, karma trolls will abuse just for kicks. And even then, there's a bit of a hive mind here, as there is for any site. If there's a hated user, they may get hidden even if they have a point.

I just say there needs to be more moderators. How they go about choosing them, I don't know. They can look at number of comments or images uploaded. Perhaps they have information on changed tags or something, but there are a lot of users and a lot of activity to sort through.

I think choosing more moderators and the activity of the current ones is all based on practicality.

tl;dr: Nothing's changing. But I'm all for discussing it. Can't say we didn't say we wanted a change, can we?

More mods, or adding to the Booru-Helper so every user can filter out specific comments with the click of a button next to any comment in question just for themselves - like we do with tags as a natural feature of the site.

Those are pretty much the only two sound solutions I can come up with, and now I'm not all too keen on adding more mods as in all honesty I do like the freedom we have here.

So yeah, single-user set specific-comment filters. Everyone governs themselves by what they choose to see, headed by our 3 current mods (who do more for us than we actually give them credit for, yeah).
With Bronies, it just might be possible...

Hi im a mod
we have more than 3

those three are just the ones who talk to the community the rest just clear out the report queue.

the report queue is currently backed up with too much stuff because many of our mods were moving these past 2 weeks and haven't been able to get everything. It literally won't load right now and we have to do a workaround in order to even load it. Sorry. We're working on it.

We need more modding/mods, plain and simple. The amount of bullshit is on the rise and without a matching rise in regulating it, the site will be overrun by it. More mods doesn't mean more rules, you know. Most of us are pretty well versed in what should and shouldn't fly, even against our own personal tastes, so I don't see the fear of Ponibooru turning into EqD or the like.

Hopefully we're still figuring it all out! Over the summer we might try adding a few more, but its hard finding people we trust to moderate.

Gore spam is annoying as heck. :(

If you're using Opera, you can avoid seeing it by adding encyclopediadramatica to your "blocked content" list. I'm sure there's a similar workaround for Firefox users.

I hope that helps someone.

Sorry, I've seen it just now.
It can be done but it won't be effective at all without server-side support... which it probably will never get. So, everything is stored locally on your browser and there's no way other users would know of your vote on a comment.

All the settings of the script are set locally in the browser's/plugin's storage space, and are gone if you change PC. If you change browser even on the same PC. Even if you clear the cache, your settings are gone.
That's also why I can't manage a ton of saved data/settings... the loss following one of the above operations would be too heavy.

Yeah, but most of all we just need to get rid of all that spam we're getting lately.

Just an advice: select some from other parts of the world, to cover every possible timezone, according to the accesses to the site.
