I think we would better accept "official" names if the people naming the toys actually seemed like they were making an effort. Someone seems to be trying. We did have Heartstrings become Lyra Heartstrings. But all too many of the names feel like they are pulled out of some intern's flank. ("This one will be Pepper Burst. This one is Swirl Burst. This one is uhh... Pepper Swirl.") |

You never know, Hasbro might have gone ninja and got the names of the G1 ponies back.
The chances of that are smaller than the chances of the Hulk landing on you while he jumps across the country side, but you neeeeeeeever know. Epic cross generational cross over in S3! |

I agree wholeheartly with Anon248. I accept all the official names (show always overruling toys, of course. e.g. Rose > Roseluck; Trixie > Trixie Lulamoon; Daisy >>> Flower Wishes; etc.), but there are some weird ones... |

Wouldn't be such a "big surprise". But I still hope we got a some-what canon name. Even if the toys ignore the show names.
But it's unlikely that the FiM crew came up with a name for that Wonderbolt and unlike Lyra there isn't that much fanart about the generic Wonderbolts so it's easier to adopt another name - at least for me. It's probably just a silly dream, but wouldn't it be awesome if Hasbro would make a Wonderbolt toy line with show accurate models of all the Wonderbolts we've seen so far? |

Some of the Wonderbolts share the same design, so why not? They just need to recolor some, like they do with normal blind bags... Also, accepting official names is always easy to me. But when show and toys contradict, I always go for the show (Even though the toys are the ones that "rule", for Hasbro...) |
