I kinda agree with that. Sure he's the only important male, but what kind of a male? Still childish, never seen fighting, devoted to Rarity who threads him like a needle cushion (literally) and never speaking up against her. He's a woobie, and the only male in the show shouldn't be represented by one. |

Spike is a mature character. He's the only one who noticed the warning signs in Lesson Zero. He's the only one who saw thru the Grand Galloping Gala. The only times he seemed to act as immature as the others were the Dragon fratboys episode and the Owlowiscious episode. |

not only that spike is a good character, he's a well rounded friend he has every element except maybe kindness. Yes he acted like a typical boy in the first season but he's grown is season two. If you think he acts girly it makes sense because he is being raised by FEMALE PONIES. |

Spike is not the worst character in the series, sure he gets on my nerves sometimes (more than pinkie or dash) but I sometimes wonder if spike fans have dragon dildos at their houses. |

He was actually manlier in S1 and first half of S2. He protected Rarity from 3 Diamond Dogs that were bigger than him and he revealed he's really a giant fire breathing monster that could level entire towns.
In S2, DQ really ruined his image kind of like how that Owl episode ruined his image in S1. |

^ In DQ he wore a girly apron. He later challenged several larger dragons to physical contests, which he admittedly lost, until he impressed them by doing a belly flop into a lava pool. At the end of the episode he showed that he was smart enough to avoid fighting while holding a fragile egg. Someone will need to explain how any of this makes him less manly.
Honestly though, I get the impression that most of the people complaining about Spike being non-manly don't actually have any idea what it means to be a man. |
